I was yelling at you right from the get go Tom that it was a valve. That sound/180 degree thing is hard to forget. Had the same thing happen to a 14.5 Briggs vertical a while back. Piston was gouged but not cracked or punctured, put it back together with a new exhaust valve and 7 years later it's still running well. Enjoyed the video. Keep them coming!!
Never dealt with Honda valve covers but, depending on the type of material holding on the valve cover, a torch and a little heat may soften the sealant enough to pry it apart without damage. Same procedure I use to remove LCD screens on Phones and Tablets only I use a hotair gun and not a torch. Good video. Thank You...
Small parts are inexpensive but that cylinder is spendy.. If customer says do it, replace both valves, new piston and rings, and a new rubber timing belt, and depends on how deep gouge is on the cylinder? might be able to hone it out enough to work.
Stress on a casted piece of metal , plus heat and pressure. The casting was probably faulty and developed over time to a crack , then totally broke away….. my guess
