Honda Rincon Valve Adjustment

This is the same video I uploaded a week ago, you just don't have to stand on your head to watch this one.
This is the valve adjustment on a 2006 Honda Rincon 680. This will be the same process on the 650 Rincon as well.
The Valve clearances are intake: 0.15 mm or .006 in and exhaust 0.33 mm or 0.013 in.

thanks, this video helped out a lot. I;ve got 10K miles on mine and doubt they’d ever been adjusted. The exhausts were a little loose, but the intakes were still ok.

Good video. One thing I always do when setting the valves is to use one size bigger and one size smaller when checking the final clearances. If .006" fits in Ok, try checking with a .005". Does it slide in easily? Yes? Good. Try a .007" now. Does it have to be forced in with a little effort? Yes? Your clearance is good at .006". Sometimes the valve spring compresses when you force the feeler gauge in and gives a false reading.

On the smaller honda motors you can remove the spark plug to get rid of the compression while finding top dead center. Would that work on these as well?

Great video. I hope this helps me out I've got a 2003 Honda Rincon that has been sitting for four years and won't start I've cleaned the carburetor and replaced the spark plug and it backfires through the exhaust. Any suggestions. Thanks

I was wondering if you had a video that could help me on my 06 Rincon 680? It started acting like it was having a low ideal and should just die so as long as I drove it , it ran good . Now it has got to where it won’t start at all just backfire every now and then while trying to start it help please. I have never had any problems with this machine bought it brand new. Thx

i have a 2009 honda rincon 680 and recently i went to start it and it started good but then backfired out the exhaust and shut off, i tried starting it again and same thing. any ideas on what to check? i know this videos on a different topic but ive watched your videos before and you seem good at what you do. any tips?

Back fire often means it is running lean. Pull your fuel line off and see if you are getting any fuel out of the pump.

I have a 300 foutrax 300 2x4 and the guy that owned my four wheeler before me tack welded the shifter to the shaft , because the splines were stripped , can I just pull the stator side case , pull the shifter shaft out and slide a new one in , thanks and love your videos brother

The shift shaft runs all the way through the motor to the right side as well. So you will have to pull the cover off the left side at the stator as well as the right side by the clutches to replace the shaft. Still not very difficult to do. Check out my 300 FourTrax engine rebuild videos and you can see the shaft.

I trust you know everything when it comes to ATVs, I have 07 Honda Rincon 680 that's flashing a FI code 29, do you happen to know what that means, TKS brother ,love the vids

29 is an idle air control valve malfunction. You can take them off sometimes and clean them and get them back working. Does the ATV idle like it should?

Rincons seem to be the biggest POS Honda has made. Mine has been nothing but problems too lol. Thanks for your vids though. They've helped me through fixing mine.

Excellent video, now I would like to know if you can help me, I have a 2007 honda rincon 680 that starts with failures and turns off by itself, when accelerating at full speed it fails and does not accelerate fully, what could it be? 😤 I already changed the original new iacv valve and the throttle body was washed

Sounds like either the fuel pump or injector.

Mine sat for 6 years with no gas he said but the little bit of gas was sitting in my gas feed valve. I pulled the hose going into the carb, then stuck the end in a 5 gal bucket and poured 2 gals of fresh gas in the tank with valve on after 2 hrs the tank had finally completely drained. It started up on the second try. It had washed all/most gunk out of the lower parts of the system. But mine is a 2005, oops just saw yours is a 2007. Anyway, good luck to you. Boowah
