@@SRDmotorsports i haven't heard about that transmission until now to be honest. My old del sol back then had an s20 b000 but i think the US never had the s8g to begin with anyway. The "small" length difference from 2nd-3rd gear is quite a big deal for us slow d series ppl 🤣 I read a post from Chris Tybor (Aquafina) back then about a B000 transmission with a longer FD, I wonder what that might be..

SRDMotorsportsTV what are your thoughts on Lightweight Flywheel (Exedy, Comoetition Clutch 10-12 lbs) for SOHC p20-b000 Civic? can u daily drive it here in our streets ? (with stoplights, humps, inclined steep roads and parking? is is true u lose Torgue during acceleration?

No u don’t lose anything it just increases rpm up and rpm down I’d rather run a light clutch rather than make the engine learn? The driver can adapt not the other way around :)

Thanks man :) e mas deficil aprender pero por sohc a s20 ratio do Si eh as mejores sem duvida para stock pero pode utilizar mfactory 3rd gear pero por dohc eh a mas facil o fasil utilizar different final drive o a final engranaje , por b20 eh mas caballo a 4.7 eh mas deficil por traccion' e mas okay o 4.4 engranaje final pero for me mas gusto 4.7 :) pode ler sobre iso a zealautowerks.com tem uma pagina por transmission a sohc o dohc man! hope my spanish was tolerable i spoke more portuguese hahaha

Surplus shop "marketing" = claiming it's a shorter/rarer and a better transmission without even counting 🙄 I think it's always advisable to open and count before buying.

I agree on the "open and count" cuz its not really much of a task its rather easy... well to be fair the 3rd is closer to 4th hahaha

@@SRDmotorsports I still remember a forum know-it-all guy from more than a decade ago.. He once confidently posted: "If it's an LSD tranny, it shouldn't be see through when you look at the hole in the diff" 🤣 I guess erroneous information in the local community spread because of guys like him and he's even a forum admin at that. Just imagine FF Squad had their visual guide on how to quickly check a transmission if it has LSD for years available on the net and he didn't even bother searching. Sorry for ranting.

Pound For Pound The S40 Transmission must Better Doing 1/4 mile racing if You Have a D16 power Plant !!! The Gear ratio is closer To 1to1 would end you say .

if i understood you correctly yeah the s20/s40 that is ex/si geared which usually has a B000 marking on the trans housing the gear spread is quite okay especially if the d16 has good torque and it does and if build good my other close ratio video talks a bit more about that

212mm sorry for the late reply But the vti I believe is not 212mm but also still B000

@@SRDmotorsports Thank you for sharing your advice :) the parts store is asking me, but i wouldn't know without disassembling the tranny, i googled but i got mixed details. so it is 212mm

@@salteveline both flywheels would work kase So check what engine it is cuz that’s where the flywheel is bolted on to Generically vti isn’t 212 only Esi but oddly Jdm d15b is 212 tsk Jdm always got the better lol

Ideally yes bigote and siR body problem is for the longest time it exists locally? its hard to tell accurate history example everyone will sell stock fresh 🤣 but we will not know if it ran pistons, a p08 head before etc etc check on the axle side if its B000 big big chance its the same as the vti/ph12 tranny

That I’m not sure but B000 are usually the same or just varying in 5th gear Unlike the A000 it’s real far in comparison

If you still have the stock 1.250 3rd gear u can tell s8g owners meron ka closer 3rd hahaha easy install hahaha

That is s20… s40 is for 96-00 usually So both s20 and s40 have b000 and a000 both have good and bad so I don’t get how locally (pinas) people ooooh at s20 or s40 when that doesn’t say enough cuz an s20 that’s a000 is as bad as an Lxi tranny or atleast gear spacing wise for racing it isn’t as nice

Check out the other video the vti tranny where I checked it with ph12 s20 etc and see the difference
