Love the bike .. sounds good I have a 2001 Honda shadow 750 ace that my wife recently bought for me it's been in storage for 2 years needed a lot of TLC but I've managed to get it started an it now idles still needs work but I can ride it now I'm very proud of my bike thanks for sharing an God bless!
I might steal your idea with the tips! Right now I have just the factory muffler setup cut off on my 2006 Shadow Aero, and I just left the stock "collector" on and painted it chrome to match everything else. I like the idea of cutting a little more off and adding two tips though. As for the Re-jet, it isn't 100% necessary but it is helpful. I didn't jet mine for a good few months after doing this mod and it ran fine I just had to ride for a couple minutes at half choke to warm it up and then it would have seamless throttle response with no choke after a few minutes. I finally re-jetted and it now warms up faster and makes a little more power; my bike made 38.7 HP at the wheel Stock, after the re-jet and exhaust mod it made 43.4 HP. Sounds great too, like a proper V twin.
Hi there, yes it came with the 2 to 1 i am very happy with the sound the only downfall is you have to start investing in ear plugs, if I can describe the sound in anyway it would be more like a dragster than a Harley.. hope this helps :)
I just picked an 04 Aero with just over 5k on it. It was garage kept and well taken care of. Absolutely love it! I just turned 51 and started riding. I'm sure I'll get something bigger after in a year or so, but for now it's perfect. Don't plan on ever getting rid of it.
The bike looks great, and sounds pretty good as well, but I think it needs a lollipop just to get rid of that twang. I don't know why so many bikes do that, but the lollipops seem to fix it.
This sound in short trips is great but when U go for a long ride with the MC club no one would like to drive behind you because its annoying for long rides
@jordankw5 I used a hack saw , you need to cut them right before the welded plate bracket behind the pipes that binds them together , and after you can cut and sand down the welded plate bracket in order to fit the exhaust tips you want
Nice brow, but you should did before 'n after to show us, would be better, by the way nice one 'n I'm also almost doing the same. I just don't wanna mess up my bike 'n have cops stop me for the bike noise. My is same your 2003. I'm the second owner =)
You don't have to rejet it lol I had to rejet my Vulcan because it was purchased from sea level and brought back to Colorado lol all you would need to do is fiddle with your idle a little bit should be a bolt on the left side of the engine connected to the carb either a plastic twist handle on the end or a 10 mm
I have an 03 spirit and I was thinking about doing that same style to my pipes. All you did was cut the stock and add some tips to it? Sounds really nice man.
The bolts are 13 mm take them out and cut them .. I just recently took off the heat shield and put black header wrap I sat it looks awesome and thank you jordan I put a bunch of pictures up on instagram take a look my user name is Aret4euro_official_
Mufflers are just to kill decibels. As long as the pipes are long enough, like in the video, you shouldn't have any problems. Too short pipes can suck air and filth into the engine ya see.
It's not the tank, it is an "instrument cluster" that screws onto the tank. (I know this is an old comment, but maybe someone else was wondering the same thing.) My 06 750 shadow has just the speed and a trip counter, no lights on the side. I'm looking at upgrading mine, or building my own.
Do you still have it and if so did you ever rejet it. I want to do that 2 mine but I have 39,000 miles on it and don't want to have to put that money in it if I don't have 2. How long did it last?
Fry that motor. Cuz its now running leaner. If its lean enough it will eventually burn holes in your pistons. don't be a cheap ass more than you already were, re jet it.
