Great presentation Why put a sprung seat on a bike with suspension?. The seat plate you could have 2 captive bolts in place and just have to drill frame for them using a cardboard template that could be printed on the packaging. All in all a superb presentation and instructional guide best I've seen in a long time.
My frustrations lie where the aluminum plugs go into the back of the frame cut. The left side angles in about 5 degrees the right side maybe 10 degrees. It's a fight to feed the rear bolts at all while in the video I can see you being able to finger tighten everything. The transition looks terrible and I have a feeling I will need to ditch the aluminum plugs entirely and just weld that piece on.. making me wish I didn't cut where instructed as I'm going to have to try to make a steel plug look good with my limited fabrication tools. It's one of the things that held me off from finishing the bike a few years ago as it's very discouraging dumping all that money into something that doesn't visually reflect my investment. I'm getting around to finishing it now, but the combination of that and refusing to sell the rear fender bracket by itself really slowed me down trying to find alternative solutions. The seat looks nice, but TJ Brutal Customs looks to have everything I would need at much more "blue collar" prices. I just wish I discovered them sooner so I didn't have to deal with trying to make the two custom manufacturers physically work together. On another side note, whoever you have powder coating your parts isn't doing very good prep. After the parts sat out of the weather for a couple years before I got back to it, they managed to rust and bubble through and begin delaminating on some of the smaller vital brackets. At this point, I plan to run a hardtail strut and mount my lights off a DIY sissy bar bolted to a much tighter fitting fender I ordered from the UK. The seat is great, just seems odd how much smoother your example video goes as I measured repeatedly and did not get similar results. I hope everyone else has a better experience than me

i have a 2000 shadow 600 vlx, i want to buy the seat kit and put it on but i want to keep my stock side covers...will this seat kit fit on there with the stock side covers?

Your prices are absurd. Even after 5 years your prices haven’t dropped at all. I wouldn’t pay more than 300 for the whole kit. Lower your price and you could sell so many more kits
