I rode a 600cc scooter (silverwing) from nanaimo bc to tijuana a few months ago. 3 countries 9 states, minimal i5. I15 through Yellowstone down to grand canyon and highway 101/PCH up the coast back home to Tacoma. I now own an ST1300. Imagine where I'll take it.

Holy cow, you must have a butt of Steel. That is one hell of an amazing ride all the way from Canada to mexico. You must have a very comfortable seat. I have a custom gel seat made in Paris from Top Selerie and I can go maybe 4 hours before my butt cheeks fall asleep. Thank you for watching, this video took me a long time to create. ❤️🤙🏍️

Great content we are so very fortunate to live in such a beautiful place (I live in Woodinville) I had a 2017 Africa Twin and sold it, I'm now looking at 2010 ST1300 or 2009 FJR 1300 AE both low miles. I would welcome your thought opinion on them. Thanks

@MotoTouringWorldWide 2 года назад
Hello Steven, thank you for watching!! Greetings from Kennydale/Renton area right here on the south end of Lake Washington not too far from you. The Honda Africa twin is a wonderful motorcycle, I made a video of one just before summer of last year. Now if in the market looking for a new motorcycle it's going to be a tough one to decide between the ST1300 or the FJR 1300. Both have excellent characteristics to their own. If you have a chance drive both and make a decision on what you like best. I really really do like my st1300. It would be interesting to know if the FJR on a hot day radiates the same amount of heat in your crotch like the st1300? For me it's not an issue except a couple times when it was hot here but I think both are excellent choices. ❤️🤙🏍️

@@MotoTouringWorldWide I'm trying not to "Binge-Watch" all your episodes. The two bikes I'm looking at is a 2006 St1300 with 10,000 miles and the want$4999 (It's in Santa Rosa) And the FJR is in Lakewood with only 8,000 miles for $7200.00 but has the funky clutchless transmisson ....I will keep you posted
@MotoTouringWorldWide
@MotoTouringWorldWide 2 года назад
@@sdecourcy ,, LOL ☺️, there's nothing wrong with binge watching. That price of $5,000 in Santa Rosa is not bad. The newer the better. Make sure you get a ST-1300 or FJR with ABS!! I will never ever ride again without ABS. Especially through turns when it's wet, IF you hit that front front brake slightly too hard, you will be on your face immediately. Keep me posted on what bike you get. I would love to see some nice photos of your Honda africa. Come on over to our private group for all motorcycle brands on Facebook. We can continue our conversation from there and then maybe try to get some guys together for a group ride this year to Whidbey Island up to Anacortes for drinks. ❤️🤙🏍️ facebook.com/groups/MotoTouringWorldWide/

I have the same bike but 2007 and live in Victoria but have yet to take the ferry with it… I am interested on your experience with the wood wedge given the full fairing?
@MotoTouringWorldWide
@MotoTouringWorldWide 2 года назад
Hello Sylvain. Thank you for watching! Great to see that you live in Victoria. Our kids and grandchildren live in Victoria and we visit on the regular basis. When we left Sunshine Coast we went back to Horseshoe bay, then took the next ferry to Nanaimo, then headed south to Victoria to be with family... Now on the full fairing are you talking about the black deflectors on the sides? Note this ST is also a 2007 🤙🏍️

@@MotoTouringWorldWide every time i take the ferry i wonder where I would install the wedge to prevent causing any damage to the bike covers. I know that the black covers hide the crash bars but without the bike on site the emplacing of the ferry wedge remains a mystery. PS. I wasn’t sure of your bike year because you have different stickers on yours. Mine is pretty much stock except for the handlebars and the back box and I also have the ABS model... in my opinion, too much bike for the island…

Great video...what is the make of you cell phone holder?
@MotoTouringWorldWide
@MotoTouringWorldWide 2 года назад
Hello Robert, good eye for noticing. That is a universal phone holder kit manufactured by RAM mounts. RAM mounts are available at pretty much any motorcycle dealership or motorcycle shop such as Cycle Gear, and also have plenty of choices on amazon. Hope you find what you need to hold your phone. Have a great weekend ❤️🤙🏍️

@@MotoTouringWorldWide Thanks for the quick response. I am picking up an ST tomorrow and was looking for a cell phone holder but was more curios on how it mounts as the ST has clip ons :) where the rest of the bikes I have owned had either bars or I hounted the holder to the steering stem.
@MotoTouringWorldWide
@MotoTouringWorldWide 2 года назад
@@robertmacdonald2735 good morning, I have a ball mount that screws into the center of the handlebars. My bike came with handlebar risers that raises the handlebars up and inch or two and then back a little bit. A very common accessory to install. In the middle there's sometimes a BMW type plug for power and then a hole to screw in the ball mount from RAM. From that point on the rest of the RAM mount kits piece together what I currently have.

@@MotoTouringWorldWide Yeah totally, hope you enjoyed the Sunshine Coast. I just started riding in October, bought my bike in Nanaimo. Sure is nice taking a bike on the ferry, front of the line and a hell of a lot cheaper than a car 😊.

@@michaell2168 ,, how exciting. What kind of motorcycle did you get in October,,?... It just so happens the second part of our trip is Sunshine Coast to Horseshoe Bay. Then the ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo then headed south to Victoria to go see our kids and grandchildren.. I absolutely love riding in Canada, it's so beautiful !!! My favorite ride was 3 year ago to Earl's Cove. Then Ferry across to the island, continued to Powell River and then from Powell River to the northern part of Vancouver Island, then all the way down to Victoria. From Victoria to Widbey Island Deception Pass and back to Seattle... My very first two test videos that I uploaded on RU-vid was that ride to Earl's cove and then the last 2 miles to Powell River to the Ferry.. The videos are short and elementary on quality. I had no idea back then where my RU-vid channel was going to go,,, or grow. ❤️🤙🏍️

@@MotoTouringWorldWide Oh nice, I'm over on the Island quite often. My wife is from Victoria, pretty much her whole family is still there. My brother lives in Port Alberni. I also have a Powell River connection, my grandmother use to live just south of there (Lang Bay). You would have rode right through it. The bike I bought is a 2014 CBR500R. Great first bike if you ask me, I'm really enjoying it. Only had 7700 km on it. I see you're a Honda fan too. They make great bikes, and cars for that matter. Nice chatting with you.
