Today I put back together the two calipers after rebuilding the carbs. Sadly we now have a no spark situation that is proving difficult to figure out, but we'll get there :)

Shiny new pistons - nice!! Satisfying to see, must be satisfying to have completed the rebuilds 😊 OC - my air box bracket has a completely buggered thread insert with the wrong size bolt forced in as a make do - will be sorted properly during service work. Not a biggy, but needs sorting for sure. As I get into the forks and brakes rebuilds, I expect I'll find some other issues. Looking forward to it (still prepping and painting after kitchen and bathroom refits). Cheers, Andy.

It always is, especially if you have a really grimy setup coming off the bike, getting it cleaned up and back together is very nice :) That's not so bad, but minor things like that are also sometimes the hardest to actually fix :D Ah once it's working I'd bet you'll be grand, it's when things sit they end up getting really bad :) Haha you are a busy man!!

Motorcycles are so much better. I was just fiddling with the brakes on my car, and they legitimately engineer them to discourage the average person from doing maintenance. Very frustrating. Great to see the work in the Valk moving forward. Can’t wait to see you fire that thing up!

Agreed! Oh 100% especially newer systems. You're often better off just buying new calipers which is silly. Haha it might end up being a while :D

Easy answer. A front brake disc on my brother in laws scooter that was worn so thin I could flex it with my hands about half an inch. The Valkyrie looked particularly good calipers to work on. Big, simple, no fiddley bits. Could you hang a net curtain from the roof to diffuse the light ? The question is what next ? 👍

Oh my that is not good 😂😂😂 Quick cooling tho I'd bet 😂 Easy peasy. Old school calipers are generally a breeze. I prefer the ones that split like on the gsxr, easier to clean, but all in all very easy. Possibly, I probably need to get one of those fancy diffuser screens. Forks and getting the spark going!
