1999 Honda Valkyrie Interstate has been perched on a trailer for at least two years, hasn't run even before that! Needs carburetor work, brakes, fork seals, the works! Let's fix this bike! Video #1.
Thanks for the video Tom; you just saved me some money! I bought a 1998 Valkyrie trike from the original owner that passed away; the trike currently only has 17,400 original miles, had been sitting and needed a lot of work . Anyway, the other day when I went to start it, it clicked and then it sounded like the starter locked up. Then I got nothing when I pressed the starter button; just a dimming headlight. I suspected I might have an issue with my starter button or kill switch so I tried using a jumper wire across the solenoid and all I got was sparks, smoke, and a hot wire. I then ordered a rebuilt starter. Tonight, after watching your video, I went back out in the garage and this time used a wrench and got the starter working. I’ll be returning the starter I ordered once I receive it. I also sprayed some contact cleaner into my kill switch. Now it starts and runs like a champ. I too love the sound of my Valkyrie! Thanks again Tom.
do you know anything about the radio.. mine was playing, volume would go up but not down..now it won't play at all and my trip meter will not work.. any help wouuld be appreciated..
Not on that bike, but on the Voyager, I had that happen and it was because the rear controls were activated and taking over, when I switched it back it worked fine. Well, as fine as that POS radio could work. Cheers.
