This is a great middle weight cruiser and the top of Honda's 750 line up. You'll love Dave's thoughts on this Retro bike! Check out everything about motorcycles at www.motorcycleexperience.ca
I like watching these videos -- some good pictures of the bike, especially the ones where it's moving. And I like the reviewer: he is obviously an experienced rider and he talks about the bike in realistic terms making relevant comparisons to other types of bikes while still respecting the test ride for what it is. Great video. I think this bike is one of the hidden gems of the motorcycle world.
have owned a 2006 version for 2 years now and i love it. the only issue i would have is that it needs more oomph on the highway but its a great, easy to ride, comfortable (especially if you change the stock seat for a Mustang one), fun ride.
Bought 2007 Honda Shadow 750 Areo in mint condition with 1,900 miles on it. It came with clear fairing and carry rack in back . Changed the seat with a Saddlemans. Leather covered hard saddlebags. Chrome engine guard , chrome mid backrest . Cruise control. Replaced tool and battery cover to chrome . Bike is awesome.
I bought a 2013 VT750 Aero. Everything good you hear about it is true and if you ever hear anything bad about it...let me know because I can't find anything. Pleasant surprise is I am getting close to 60 mpg on this bike. Just saying...
+Douglass Benson Only thing I found that would help with a larger engine for shifting. A larger engine would pull you threw more and keep your speed constant, but I like shifting so it is not a big deal for me. Don't get me wrong! It has more than enough power, You just have to find the right gear. Also I find the rear brake a little touchy.
MPGs in the upper 50s? We've never met and I hate you! ;) My '07 Shadow Sabre 1100, with it's dual carbs gets just 40 mpg. Congrats on owning a bullet-proof bike.
i love this motorcycle, i owned it and put 10k miles on it in the past, but i gotta question his love of the "sound" of the motorcycle...frankly it doesn't have much sound. going down the road from a pedestrian perspective, it sounds like a quiet lawnmower going down the road. the shadow needs aftermarket exhaust if you really want a good sound.
I have a 2013 Aero and when I've pulled into the driveway I get "Oh, I didn't know you were home!" With stock pipes its much quieter than most. I suppose the neighbors appreciate that. :)
I like the video, very helpful. I'm thinking of buying one of these, either this Honda Shadow 750 Aero or Yamaha V-Start 650. Which one is better in this class?
The seating position is miserable. You sit in a "hole" and there is no room for changing position at all. Result: You´re tired after half an hour. I went to a saddle maker who put some new leather on it, raised my seating position and flattened the "hole".
Slow down enjoy the scenery with 15 cars trying to go up your tail pipe. That one sitting position gets tiring after 20 miles, you can't slide back or forward even a little, get to feeling like a little green plastic army man stuck in one riding position. And that 5 speed transmission aaahhh I'm always looking for that 6th gear it needs so badly. NO fuel guage!!!! No self cancelling blinkers. NO emergency flashers.
