Hey guys - thanks for joining us again for another family vlog. Unfortunately Bethany has been feeling really unwell for the past few days - if you're reading this comment below and send her some love 💕 it will really cheer her up!
So it's been a month now that we've been running our video business as our sole source of income. So we thought it would be worthwhile breaking down our expenses and family finances and chatting through how we are getting on.
POLL: So RU-vid doesn't do polls anymore... So here are my questions for you!
1) Have you lost your job due to the pandemic?
2) Do you earn enough to break even each month? Do you earn more than enough, or not enough to get by?
I know these are personal questions but I think starting a conversation around this can be super helpful. Thanks again for all of your support!

I love the transparency. We are struggling too due to Covid. Every penny counts. Had to be more savage and scale back. No takeaways and food shops actually saves so much money..

That's exactly why we wanted to share this info. We sometimes get so discouraged by what we see on social media and how everyone looks like they are ALWAYS fine and thriving and making loads of money and always happy. And it makes us feel inferior and it's so downheartening. So we want to put stuff out there that people like us can watch and realise "oh thank goodness, they are struggling too, I'm doing ok. I'm not inadequate."

All credit to you guys for still working hard and trying your best...your children are happy and healthy so in that sense, you’re richer than most. But it’s just so frustrating that unfortunately, money makes the world go round...❤️ I’m a keyworker so have been working throughout (albeit minimum wage) but I’m grateful to still be employed where others have lost their income. I wish you all the best ❤️

It's so annoying isn't it 💰💲💰 You are right, we are happy and healthy together and that's been the main source of joy for us which is keeping us going. Well done! It must be hard at the same time being a keyworker and having to continue working all the time whilst all this has been going on. Hope you're ok and that you get a break soon! ❤️

I love your transparency and really opening up honest conversations that I feel more people need to talk about. I'm a single mom of two and sole caretaker of my older daughter who has cerebral palsy and autism. I do freelance writing work if I have the time but because my daughter requires 24 hour care, I'm unable to work a steady job. A week before lockdown, I got my first piano students and was hoping I could build that business as it's something I can do from home but because both my daughter and mother have compromised immune systems, we can't risk it. Fortunately we live with my parents so our expenses are low but we're basically living off of my daughters social security payment and child support, which totals to about $1,100 a month. It's a struggle every week and while I'm thankful for what we have, it'd be so nice to not feel like I'm drowning 24/7. We pray for your family all the time and are wishing you the best. Bethany, we"ll continue praying for your health and sending you all our love!

Amy! I feel like I've known you for ages through comments and messages back and forth but I never knew this. That's so tough, I'm so sorry. I hope you can pick up the piano lessons again when things start to go back to normal. And I hope writing work comes in for you too, what kind of things do work on? I sometimes get asked if I know any copy writers so can pass your name on next time i get asked! Enough to be able to save I love financial Podcasts love money saying this I got engaged 2019 so I never cared to save until we got engaged and it's really changed my life You guys are my fave youtubers and it's been nice to see you guys pop up on my phone recently I stopped watching for a bit but I'll be continuing to support you guys now I've watched this video and congratulations on the baby I hope you losing your job and changing focus really helps you guys in the long run my partner lost his job due to corona and ended up getting a fulltime job that's amazing we are in Australia so less of a lockdown here luckily

Hope you feel better soon Bethany, sending you love ❤️. My hours were reduced dramatically due to COVID-19 (which resulted in me basically being unemployed) but I was so lucky to have government support. The Canadian government provides $2000/month which has kept me afloat! Thank you for sharing your financial situation, it’s comforting to know we are all in this together. Love you guys 🥰

Sending love to you guys ❤️ we're in a similar situation as you unfortunately! 2 kids and no jobs! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Away to start uni this month so will at least have a bursary but its less than ideal. Im not ashamed to admit that we claim help from the government but needs must and we wont be stuck in this hole forever!

Hi Daniel and Bethany, I wish I could help you all, especially during this daunting time. I am self employed with one Daughter at College and we have struggled but I really hope things will progress and life will get easier. I must admit to feeling very low and almost beaten at times but somehow life has a way of shining through and odd jobs and contracts come along like a mini miracle! I hope Bethany is feeling better. x

RU-vid members club. Get your subs to subscribe to join. Check it out, lots of other content creators do this on their channel. For a small fee every month say £1.99p or what ever you want. Then they get different content. More work for you, but it gives you guys and extra income. But the content you create has to be different from you normal vlogs. Hope this helps.
