Honestly did not expect to see Nico as a main character in this, Runaways was one of my favourite comics when i was younger, had so much potential but felt they just got lost with it. This hadn't really interested me much but I'm curious enough i may pick it up in a deal.
Glad to see this game getting a fair shake in the honest trailer. I've seen so many comments from people dismissing the game without bothering to learn more because they don't like cards, or they don't like turn based strategy games, or because it's not "their" Marvel. It's a really solid tactical RPG and I had a lot of fun with it.
I've told a few friends it's not a versus/duel card game, it's a card battler. They were quite relieved. I think that's the misconception, that you're playing cards vs Hydra/Litlith's cards.
Well for me it's because the pacing is completely off. You do one combat mission, then have to dick around the abbey. You should be able to do non-story related missions, or at the very least be able to send all your heroes out every day (so with 9 people you can have three missions per day).
Honestly, "Marvel: Enemy Unknown" sounds like it could be an actual title for either a new comic book series, video game (maybe a sequel to this game), or even a movie or miniseries.
@@TheJML1975 I don't remember at the moment, but it was a lot. I pretty much played it nonstop for like a week. My only wish is, I wish there were more cards to collect and more ways to level up and modify the cards.
@@lazygamer4746 ya they need to release expansion packs, I’ve been just grinding out purples for their essence so that I’m able to get all the cards I want for Deadpool.
I’ve been eyeballing this game for awhile. I’m not even a huge Marvel fan (or even a huge DC Comics fan), but this appeals to the inner nerd in me that likes to build bomb ass strategies and connect with my squad mates in thoughtful ways.
The super hero fatigue is real...but this game 🤤 So much strategy... So much customization. So many difficulty levels (for when you've nailed the strategy and it feels easy... Up the difficulty on the fly and fight for your life like you stole something! I didn't go in the peak difficulty, but it's fun where you seriously must think about your next moves, when the optional difficulty is enough to get your team wiped out in 1-2 turns.)
The Marvel Superhero Friend-Date feature is for some reason one of my favourite weird gaming things of last year. It's so gloriously nerdy yet wholesome that I wonder if there was some sort of rights-related reason they didn't go the whole hog and let your avatar hook up with some of them (e.g. the ones who are canonically single and attracted to whichever gender you're playing as).
@@KeithFraser82 no spoilers or anything, just joking about being a homewrecker vs canonically single. Why limit to the single...? it's maybe the end of the world... *Gains dark points* :p
☝🏼 never got hooked on a game since the Spider-Man game. I took the risk by preordering this game, and best decision. As person who never played a card based game, it was refreshing way of playing without bashing buttons
I was unfortunately massively disappointed. I expected an actual tactics game, and instead I got some crap card game that brings the card moves to life in 3D. I guess because there is some movement going on, with some targeting, they decided that was enough to call it a tactics-based game.
@@re--dacted that is fair. I wouldn't waste 90 bucks on a game either. Thankfully got it on sale for around 45-50. Also 90 sounds kinda high unless you're getting the season pass too. I'd double check that price
This is... every thing me. This is literally every single thing that I am, and feel about this damn game. Like this describes my entire experience here word for word. And I hate it.
I seriously love this game, I rented it from GF a few days ago and haven't put it down since. Funny enough, I'm also playing FE engage at the same time lol
I’m actually enjoying this game love how boss fights are all different, loved fighting venom now got Wanda . Still haven’t finish but I’ll get the season pass
@@jeremycards I recommend looking her up on a wiki or something if you like her. She's been around for a long time in the X-Men comics and is a very interesting character
Gonna be honest, I watch these intead of any actual gameplay trailers. These are just so much more informative and amusing at the same time. And honestly? I think you've sold me on this game. xD
Haha loved this game and loved this video. The line about 'opps tried to redraw iron man card' was on point because I do it every mission with him haha.
JUST beat this on the weekend. Great game, never felt too grindy and it is VERY Marvel with the quips. While it IS a card game, it never really felt slow due to the environment attacks making up for it.
Yup. That's the problem right there. I was listening to a December episode IGN's GameScoop discussing GOTY candidates and one of them was like "well the paint is barely dry on that one" and they moved on. What does that even mean?! lol. There's definitely been a effort by big gaming journalism to just walk right on past Midnight Suns.
The game quite good. It’s not as punishing as Xcom, one mistake or one bad hand would not screw you up. In fact during my almost 60 hours gameplay very rarely I feel like this is a card game. Also every hero feels different enough with one another
Kudos to this awesome game and this awesome trailer! Can't wait for Deadpool tomorrow. If you're looking at this game, get it. I have thousands of hours in XCOM 2, and most of my Marvel knowledge is from the MCU. It is not only a great tactical game (the line about "cobbling together victory" is perfect), it's a very fun Marvel experience.
One of those rare instances when an Honest Trailer has made something look BETTER. I wanna play this now. But why you gotta hate on my boi Robbie Reyes? He IS Ghost Rider.
Crusader Kings? I got you fam. Just loosely base a game on the Marvel Wasteland where heroes are gone but their iconic powers are all over the place in different kingdoms. An Venom T.Rexes are a thing.
Midnight suns kind of reminded me of ultimate alliance if it had turn based combat. Ultimate Alliance was such a great game series and it absolutely sucks that they pulled both games from stores.
I appreciate them doing something unexpected with the license, but this is definitely a case of appreciating the intention more than the actual product.
@@Freeden I appreciate that the product is a finished game for once. That being said it made me want to play the old Ultimate Alliance games more than anything.
I feel both seen and somewhat attacked by that 'making excel sheets for fun' line. At least I'm not using one to track my Neopets stamp collection like my Mom does.
geez, you actually almost convinced me to get me this game... but then I remembered that I mostly just care for spiderman and from what games I tried so far, I really suck at x-com like games... buuuut I may still keep this one on the radar anyway. also still waiting for the MCU to finally end. Like I'm legt out of it since infinity war.
This game was insanely enjoyable... Robbie was my real life BFF. Captain America, I never expected to like, but his conversations were deep and interesting. This game had so much going for it!!!
Yes, I'm glad this game is getting more eyes. It's not a perfect game but very enjoyable and hopes for the DLC coming to not just add Storm and Deadpool but more maps and story
