After beating the game it then becomes Deadfall as far as replay ability goes and has a too high of level cap at 40 which should have been capped at lvl 20!
Who the hell releases a multi-player focused game without public matchmaking!? That's like releasing a Racing game that only allows you to drive a Ford Pinto!
@@KeithFraser82 I low key feel like the smallest few that actually want Anthem 2 but not made by EA I truly think from 2000-2016 were truly the best time as a gamer and all of us took Anthem and many other games for granted thinking this they were the worst, 2023 games are making 2010-2016 games look like elden ring
If you have ever been to a coastal New England town in the off season then you know "what's great is exploring the town itself but its boring to actually do anything in it" So they were spot on in that choice.
It's insane to me that they've been advertising the co-op structure of this game from the very beginning and couldn't figure out a matchmaking system or even how to allow everyone to progress when playing together.
seriously, if they're trying to raise up prices , they can't keep doing this anymore. they want to start charging $70, they need to end strict set release dates or whatever they're called and stop releasing unfinished, buggy games that still need months of patches.
this wasn't even a set release date. It got pushed back a year from it's original expected release, and Arkane STILL couldn't get it more done than this. Just a total studio failure. And that's even after they had the playstation version cancelled so they had less work to do. Less work, extra year of time, and this is still the best they could do.
Honestly, it's a pretty big disappointment, since that was the only thing that ever had a chance of bringing me back to Overwatch after the mess that "2" is came into existence. Doubly so since it was the main marketing point for "2" to begin with. And yes, I will always put "2" in quotation marks when talking about it, even more so now, because as is all it is is a F2P update to Overwatch that made a bunch of bad changes.
@@michaelknox3715 Its never happening, they officially cancelled it. The most people will get are the special holiday co-op missions once every couple years.
@@humblegrind8 Calm down, its called hyperbole. Nothing in life at all is perfect, including games, but sometimes we get shockingly close. I'd call ToTK, Outer Wilds, and Subnautica the 3 closest to it in the last decade (for me, personally).
There are two Arkanes responsible for some games each, one works on a game while the other does another...sadly, Redfall is from the Arkane that made Prey, not the Arkane that made the Dishonored games. Both as a whole make Arkane...and now the side that made Redfall is also dragging down the one that made Dishonored and Deathloop despite those guys not being involved as far as i know.
@@destroyerbreaker7394 deathloop was a bit of a milktoast game. I know critics liked it but they seal clap for anything with a time concept Felt like a few good ideas encased in a vanilla shooter. still miles better than redfall but arkane as a whole kinda missing lately
@@sprintstothebathroomdaily2429 Yeah, Deathloop seems like they slapped the word "timeloop" on there without actually making you able to have fun with that mechanic. Its basically a linear game where they pretend the day's repeating.
Arkane's downfall started when studio founder and game designer Raphaël Colantonio left due to the marketing dumpster fire that Bethesda forced upon Arkane for Prey.
When you create the trailer for Tears of the Kingdom, you must glue together the user comments in the intro just like Link would do it with his new ability!!!!
Speaking of unfinished releases, anyone else noticed how Japanese studios have been making games so much more polished out of the gate lately? (e.g. Elden Ring, Tears of the Kingdom etc) I see it’s nothing to do with countries. Just specific studios like From. Hope they keep it up
Of hundreds of titles that come out every year. Yes, the bigger studios tend to push out polished games, they have their duds but more often than not they're great. And they are only going to keep getting better, these companies weren't exactly pushing out diamonds during the 80s and '90s and while there were some gems, we are eating much better now than we ever were before
that was pretty much always the case. It's an issue of bringing things out when they are done and not for specific times of the year like Christmas or summer vacation. Plus pretty sure Nintendo still has a culture of using testers and listening to their feedback. Most companies just first day patch things after the game breaks on the first day!
Has there been any announcement on whether they're going to try to fix it? I feel like there's the potential for this to become decent, if they were willing to put in at least another year's worth of effort. (Seems unlikely, but otoh, I wasn't expecting Bethesda to put out a pretty big revamp for Ghostwire Tokyo either.)
This game is like the A student procrastinating on a project till the last day. Then pulling an all nighter & put together a half assed project that earned a D+
Somehow I made it to a Cutco recruitment/sales pitch/training event 20 years ago. After 30 minutes I realized it was a scam and/or too much work and dipped out.
Redfall just got put in a cage match with HT and got blended 💀 HT probably paraphrased a certain someone from the Raimi trilogy and said: "I got you for 5 whole minutes!"
Phil Spencer is the problem. His apology without actually committing either to fixes or refunds is a big part of that problem. Its clear that the studio - who has put out nothing but fantastic games - was forced to put this game out with a high price dictated by Xbox and Phil Spencer claims he had no idea..... its his job to have an idea. Its his job to make sure they don't under deliver.
As a Playstation owner, I was initially saddened that we won't get anymore Arkane studios games. Now, I'm relieved that we were spared. No hate to other platforms, but these developers clearly lost talent between the franchises.
As a fellow ps owner I doubt it's the developer losing talent and more so the oversight from xbox probably messing up the development (also the fact they had to make it multiplayer with no in depth ventures into multiplayer games)
@@atlas_vash Possibly. I was initially sad we won't get any more Elder Scrolls or Dishonored games more than anything. Now, I'm just taking life as it is, and appreciating what I can get. And give my money to.
I mean, it seems like they're already gone. They've become a Bioware or Blizzard: once amazing studio that got eaten up by publishers and gutted, hoping to milk people off of the name's good reputation.
If the main quest requires you to do a side quest to continue with the main quest is said side quest still truly a side quest....or, because now it is required rather than optional, is it now a branch of/to the main quest?
That "spitting on a bulldozer, drop kicking a series of toddlers" line made spit beer all down the front of my shirt. This is the best video y'all have done in a while! Great work! 👍
The lesson should be: Never preorder games. Giving them money before the game is complete is why AAA studios keep releasing garbage; they already got their money.
@@TheGrumbliestPuppy That's why you pre-orderer physically because you can always move the money to a better game. Digitally, they get your money and you are stuck. Physical FOR EVER!
I see this, and then I hear the devs of FF16 are so confident in there game there not making a day one pass. Director said there play testing the hell out of it and doing there damndest to squash bugs.
Beat it. Layla with the telekinetic powers was a fave. The moment I found public match making was not an option I mentally ejected from the game though. Lots of questionable decisions …. Idk what they were thinking … completely mind blown by the huge miss. It’s a small bridge from contemplating PlayStation now.
