I just bought one yesterday. I grilled burger last night and right now I’ve got some chicken breast on. So far I’m absolutely loving it. So much easier than a charcoal grill. It’s been really really windy here and I just can’t get my charcoal started. This is stupid easy in comparison
Hey Scotty! Great video. Holidays are coming so I was wondering what your thoughts are about smoking a whole turkey. We have balmy 30-40F down here in Dane county around thanksgiving. Thanks again for posting.
Been using this Pit for 2 years now. Love it, I also have done the same, blocked the holes with tinfoil. Ive been trying to find a way to hang jerky though, and a blanket for winter. Any ideas? Also if you want a cover, Lowes sells the Pit Boss "pro" series cover, but it fits this model perfectly. I also took out the grate that sits over the pellets. Its annoying to me to not be able to reach my pellets when its getting low. Now I can scoop them off the sides easier.
I am glad you are having good cooks with yours. My Lexington routinely is 75 degrees lower than set. Thanks for the idea about plugging the holes up. I will try that again with some inexpensive meats, like chicken. I have given up on the Pit Boss tech support with the temp issue. The reason I think there is something fundamentally wrong with the design is because my Z-Grill cooks with perfect temps and so does my Weber Charcoal. Any other suggestions?
try cleaning the probe. what also helps is when you turn iit on after the smoke clears. go 100 over you set temp. add your food. then turn it down to the desired temp you want. that works for me.
@@phred5 I’m not sure if my Walmart had them down that low but I sure remember the price majorly dropping. Unfortunately I was stupid and didn’t get one then. I got one yesterday at $267. Still not THAT bad in my opinion
So as I am planning my outdoor kitchen, if you could have just one grill which would it be? I plan to do all my cooking outside until the snow really starts flying. :-)
Question: Is it OK to leave the Lexington out in the open with just the cover? I have not yet got to get a roof to my porch, worried about the temp control electronics, thanks!
