I've had my Jimny for a couple of months now and your review is spot on. It's a fun car to own even with the obvious drawbacks. Driving over the sand dunes looks to be great fun.

Great vids and mods! more context about EU: the Jimny is only sold in Europe as a light commercial vehicle because of the emission, not because of safety. Safety is fine for EURO standards but it emits 150+ g/km. At launch, the 4seat version had a malus of ± €10.000, which didn't makes sense for a €20.000 cars. Suzuki stopped selling it and released instead an LCV because there is no malus for commercial vehicle.
@@MrMawaterArabia Except for the fully hydraulic power steering most other conventional steering systems will inevitably kick back when the situation occurs. Like you said on paved roads and soft sand there won't be any kickback but hit a kerb and then thumbs out is wiser! This practice has saved me many a times. Have fun!
Very good review from an actual owner. I saw Jimny in Pakistan in a showroom but it was very expensive but I liked it lot especially due to its utility and practicality. The small engine and high clearance makes it perfect for driving in a city like Karachi that has terrible roads which flood after rains.
I appreciate exotic sports cars but I will always choose the utilitarian nature of a truck or SUV. Your Suzuki Jimmy is a great little off road choice. A V6 with a manual trans would be perfect. I like its looks and size. Your wheel choice is very on point, only adds to the aesthetics of the Jimmy. I really like the way it looks. I agree with your opinion about the Jimmy, for what it is... Never owned a Jimny, but spent 2 weeks eating, sleeping and driving a total of about 2500km in it when I did my solo travel in Iceland. Funny how in just that brief 2500km, I could relate to most if not all of your feelings about the Jimny haha

Everything is spot on! Thanks for the video! I have my Jimny for last 2 years and I cannot agree more with you. I would only ask for torquer engine and 5 or 6 speed transmission as well as less body roll driving dynamics... Of course maybe longerbase version with 5 doors for city driving. For noise problem I have installed sound deading material laminating over the chasis (under the floor carpet) and inside the doors and it really helped the road noise. I have also installed a good sound system with additional back speakers (brackets 3d printed) and Kenwood underseat subwoofer. I am also a long time Land Cruser Prado driver when I was in Saudi for 8 years, this Jimny is the second car that I can fully trust in harsh enviroment!
The fact that you didn't mention reliability tells me that is it very good, as with every Suzuki vehicles. I live in South Korea and I am looking to import a brand new Jimny from Japan. There will be no dealer network here. so reliability is a top importance to me. I have heard nothing but good things about Suzuki in that aspect.
In India we have a five door Jimny - exclusive for India! Nice to see an Arab reviewing a car in good English. How come your Jimny doesn't have a touch screen navigation?
Great video ! Your armrest looks interesting. Can you please share some information on how you made it ? It is permanently screwed into the seats or is it made oversized and snugly squeezed between the seats ? Does it interfere with the hand-brake and the 4x4 transfer shift ? Thanks !
I was planning to buy the new 5 door version, but after seeing that the new car is almost just like this old 3 door car, i have changed my mind. All the points you mentioned seem to be true even for the new version! And that’s unacceptable. Maruti Suzuki should and could have made it much better but I don’t know what they were dreaming about.
Amazing review man, one of my favorite car review videos I have watched, Very realistic, calm and honest ! I also love the mods you have done to it because they are very discreet and functional.
I like the way you have modded it, not too over the top but sensible while having practical benefits on a car that needs ever bit of help you can give it. I like the Jimny and it is extremely popular here in Brisbane, Australia but I couldn't justify changing from my little Suzuki Swift to get such poor mileage, safety and power even though I much prefer the style and expect I would enjoy driving it much more. Ironically I bought a manual Swift just because I got a good deal on it but for a Jimny, the manual seems quite necessary for the reasons you explained. Suzuki have a few different Jimnys in the pipeline but which countries they will each be available in is unclear. I have wondered if an EV version would have more torque and lower the centre of gravity as well as making it cheaper to run (even if more expensive to buy).

It comes down to what level of offroading you plan to do. The auto is definitely better for the road but will have some limitations offroad. Higher speed dune bashing with requires more torque is definitely better in the manual, the auto will let you down in some situations.
If you live in a mountainous country like I do you definitely want a manual, otherwise the car will be hunting for gears constantly and you will get fed up driving it. I don't have the Jimmy, got a land Cruiser, but I do like the Jimmy's a lot. Manual has more torque, is also more economical, 5 gears against 4 and you can choose which gear you want to be in. Unless you are mostly driving in town with constant start / stops, manual is way better driving experience. You are totally in control of the car not the car in control of you. Unfortunately my Land Cruiser doesn't come with full manual, but it has manual over ride, which I use, same with my BMW. Luckily my truck and van both are manual only.
I love the modifications. It really looks better than stock. I don't like the auto gearbox, though. I don't know why they make one even. And in my country, it is offered as manual only.
Very good video, honest, interesting and the model is described very well with the alterations and upgrades shown simply and interestingly. It’s a pity the vehicle is not available in Finland any more as it is also excellent in cold winter climates.
Excellent video and your review is honest and explain the true facts. I love your JIMNY it’s looks impressive and impeccable. I’m also a JIMNY JB74 owner and must say for daily driving it’s awesome. I have changed few items in order to improve in performance and some cosmetic changes and essential features. JIMNY is one of the best vehicle on the roads and off the road. Thanks and hope we can enjoy many more adventures with our JIMNY 👍

Thx for sharing your impressions about your jimny. 👍🏻 I just have a simple question: i've read some articles/critics about the Jimny and a lot of people criticise the standard headlights being to dark an not lighting the road very well. The LED Headlights, are of course way better. But since you stated correctly, that the Jimny is being sold as a commercial vehicle only in a lot of countries, i just wanted to ask you for your personal opinion about the standard headlights of the Jimny. Of course i realised, that you've installed some extra LED Lights (i guess for offroading 😜)...wouldn't do it any different...should i own one in the future. The little One, got quite expensive in Europe.😅 Thx for your answer in advance. 👍🏻 Hope you still own this car and it still runs perfectly fine. :-)

By the way, wider tyres do not improve traction on sand, the improvements are due to the taller sidewall and not the width, Deflating tyres increases the footprint of the tyre in lengh opposed to width. Increasing the width of the tyre has the negative effect of increasing the resistance from the sand in front of the tyres which results in a greater load on the engine. Cheers from OZ.

The lift kid DOES NOT raise ground clearance!! You just make the body less stable, as you can only raise ground clearance with larger diameter wheels or with portal axles. The diffs still run at the same height. Oh, fellow men and logic escaped the 4x4 fraternity.
You cannot buy it as a passanger car in the European Union, only as a "truck" because of the emissions standards of the engine. So, what EU actually did, you can carry around two persons instead of four with the same emission. Which means, the emission per person is doubled. Isn't just EU's "experts" and "lawmakers" completely stupid??!! 🤦♂🤬 So, the ban is nothing to do with the safety features, but it failed on the emission, "technically".

I use to drive my old Jimny on IBIZA and was great but the new ones takes the cake...anyway we still have to wait for the electric one but I like your model the best even if it is gasoline now ! I will probably use it first here in Belgium as a normal car but for use on (my) 40km island it is the best because the big 4x4 are to big for the small roads in the CAMPO ! Anyway will try to find one with hand transmission ! 😆

My friend, your english is impeccable. I really wanted to buy this Jimny but it was always sold out. I bought the ranger raptor instead last 2020. Now my interest have been renewed to buy one of this, I'm just waiting for a cheaper priced one in the 2nd hand market
