Nick Bare is famous for 'Go One More' and the 'Hybrid Athlete' program. Of course I look up to him and his level of fitness, so I decided to give it a try!
This is my honest review of the Nick Bare Hybrid Athlete fitness plan and workout app, enjoy!

To really hybrid, I think you do need to have some fitness experience. If you are just starting, better to focus on one thing each week just to learn your body and then mash it together. Otherwise, it can be so overwhelming for a beginner. Nice review.
@JadenFeddock
@JadenFeddock Год назад
Totally agree. I like the overall concept of the program but fitness is surprisingly complex for beginners (understanding lifts, technique, mind-muscle connection, etc.)!

Thanks good honest review.I think Nick's you tube content and product marketing is way slicker than the app by the sound of things.

100% accurate in my experience! Love his channel and everything he is doing, but since he is using a third-party platform for it, I'm sure he didn't get the bells and whistles he would have wanted

For sure! I think they are good workouts, my biggest issue was that they were *too* hard, so my modifications probably messed with the effectiveness

I’ll believe that Nick is natty when he ever comes out and tells people he’s had an injury. To think someone in their 30s is doing a bodybuilding show, ultramarathon and sub 2:45 marathon all in a 6 month time with no injury is nearly inhuman. As someone who’s lived their 30s you just can’t keep up like you did in your 20s. Now it helps that Nick doesn’t have a physical job like I do where I’m logging 6-8 miles a day on my step counter, but to be putting that amount of mileage on a 200+ lbs frame without injury for years doesn’t seem realistic. I mean within 2 weeks of running his training app I had knee pain and ankle tendinitis.
@JadenFeddock

I think we have similar sentiments on it ;) super inspirational? Absolutely. But I don’t think any normal human (even on peds) could keep up with Nick. He is a different type of athlete for sure, especially at the age he is doing all of this at!

If things are too complicated, too hard, or you just don't really enjoy it, then it's not sustainable. You don't have to kill yourself to get in great shape, you should actually look forward to most of your training
@JadenFeddock
@JadenFeddock Год назад
💯💯 Absolutely agree with this. Even a 5 min jog every day that someone can do consistently is better than killing yourself with a monster workout once a month! I’ve started going to a local gym lately and focussing on 3-4 exercises that I want to really nail, and it has been great! (6 days per week for the last 7 months)

@@JadenFeddock Sounds perfect! I actually just had a random video pop up with a guy saying how he had forced himself out the door that morning to do his 5 mile run and how he hates running but he did it anyway etc etc...And the question is, why?! Do something you like or even get excited about instead!

Decent review...one could easily say that your at-home setup lends itself extremely well to being able to run in the middle of your workout, or in the beginning, or at the end. You realize you just complained about walking out of and back into your house...right lol? That is literally the best part of having a home gym...or an open warehouse like Nick to be able to decrease that barrier between cardio and lifting. For folks at work or at a commercial gym this would be wayyyy more of a PITA. #perspective

Great point @Rob I thought I didn’t have the equipment necessary to start, but the only difference is living in a condo where I have to walk downstairs to go run and NEVER once did I see that as a barrier to not train. I’m on Day 2 and nowhere thinking about stopping.

If you looking for things to motivate yourself, thats a problem right there. Motivation is in the mind. With that said, if you really want to workout you will find a way, and if you dont you will find excuse.

Nick Bare has a lot of time to workout like this. He’s also a freak (in a good way). When I say he has a lot of time more than your average Joe; he worked his ass off to build his company that earned him this luxury. Again he worked hard.

Do remember that Nick Bare is a former US Army 75th Ranger Regiment Officer and they’re a hard charging unit and spend most of their time doing close in target operations and are a Quick Reaction Force for Navy Seal Operations, not exactly the men who are well known to take easy during training.

Nick Bare is another fake natty and trying to imitate him is dangerous. If you run more than about 60 or 70 miles a week, you will crash your testosterone, like cut it HALF. I ran D1 track, and this is well known in there. Top level athletes there will monitor carefully and supplement to bring it back up to normal range. Just putting this out there because most people aren't aware of it like there's awareness of roids in bodybuilding and stuff.
@JadenFeddock

Wow I didn’t know that about distance running!! But from what I’ve seen of distance runners / Olympic Marathon etc it makes sense to me… I’ve heard quite a few people mention PEDs with Nick Bare and I don’t know if I know one way or another, but I can say his training load would probably put me in a hospital bed if I tried to copy it exactly for any meaningful amount of time 😂
