In This Video, I will be giving my honest review of the anime Sword Art Online the Movie Ordinal Scale and ranking the characters on a tier list! This is going to be a series where I watch all the SAOs until my brain cells have all deteriorated. My content is satire in nature and while it may sound like I disliked the anime it's mostly bad jokes. I will be talking about what makes it a good anime... by insulting everything about it. This movie was released on Feb 18, 2017. This is a prequel for the alalicization arc I think. There is a Light novel that you can read, so I recommend reading it even though I have no idea what happens. This video contains Large spoilers, so be aware if you plan on watching the anime or reading the manga. This anime is available in dub.

In defense of kirito, I believe he didn't like the idea of augmented reality because he thought the virtual and real world should stay separate. Combining the two would make it nearly impossible to identify what is real and what is fake. This could result in real problems like injuries or even worse death.

In defense of kirito, I’m pretty sure in SAO you have to move your body to do the sword stuff so a lot of sao players would come out of the game with 2 years of sword fighting muscle memory but I don’t think that would be enough to win again eiji when he had his irl hacks on

Unless eiji was more weaker fiscally than kirito's body - he trained kendo when he was a kid because of his granddad but passed away after some days after the event of SAO

Yeah this was a banger movie. Though in Kirito's defense, has had a lot of physical training in the past, he was just unmotivated most of the time. But I do share everyone's frustration with his out of the blue indifference toward the augmented lenses, I mean it benefits even introverts. Gud luck on yur braces adjustments by the way.

theirs somthing you failed to point out. ordinal scale would be horribly unbalanced. this is because anyone with actual formal hystorical sword training would be almost unstoppable compared to someone without it. meaning the endgame would be locked off to most players.

Ngl i agree the kirisuna moments carried the movie hard. Kirito reading the diary was discutible, but her reaction to it was honestly a good way of showing their deep level of bonding.

@@YoSora1313 I’ve read Alicization and the adaptation was butchered to shit. Anime didn’t adapt even 40% of what’s written from the novels. Add that on with unnecessary anime original scenes catered towards fan-service, it made the adaptation even worst. It’s bad when Kawahara had to apologize on behalf of the anime studio for skipping an entire sub-arc in Alicization anime. In fact, Alicization was the WORST adapted arc from a novel to anime standpoint compared to previous seasons. If you enjoyed Alicization anime, then the novels are about 50 times better.

Yeah, when you remove so much of the context from the novels, the anime really falls apart. It gets even better when the next season basically needs you to read a short story from a limited edition book given to only the people who went to see Ordinal Scale in theatres in Japan for a plot point to make sense. Worst of all, it was for a part that wasn't even in the original novels. They do that after skipping entire sections from the novels already.

Ah yes, one of few Anime movies I watched in the cinemas. It's decent the final fight was cool. Never thought about it till now but they probably didn't add the creepy/weird parts since it's a movie. 6/10

Uh, no. They couldn't just stop playing Ordinal Scale because that wouldn't have restored the memories already taken. Going to Kikuoka might have helped, but he has his own agenda, for which he was even willing to recruit Professor Shigemura. The Alicization Arc also gets into the fact that the SAO survivors aren't exactly trusted, so while Kikuoka and his team might be willing to take Kirito's word for it, going to the police telling them to shut down the concert for the SAO survivors because someone's going to turn the National Stadium into a giant Nerve Gear, potentially killing all of the SAO survivors, would just make them sound stark raving mad.

The anime was basically made so you would read the novels. If you want things to make sense, go read the novels. If you want important scenes to give characters development, go read the novels. That's basically what they did.

It's not like Kirito went an beat the entire world to be the best in OS in one evening... it was just downtown Tokyo so the numbers were a lot less. And lets be honest, he was very, very driven.
