Trapped in a dating sim was the dark horse of last season. During the 3 months of other isekais that came out such as Skeleton knight and the horribly adapted shield hero season 2. Trapped in a dating sim was a breath of fresh air

the LN is pretty solid btw. Reason why i read them was after watching 5 episodes in a row i enjoyed it so much i decided to read the LN. No regrets.

For whatever reason this is on my top 10 anime, the world building is pretty decent, the MC is actually enjoyable to watch and somehow seduced the queen, chad for real. Just discovered your channel a couple days ago and I’ve been binging the videos awesome work!

Her being bland is a part of her "character" in the game, since even in normal harem games the mc is typicaly a bland black hair character

Ok but if you’ve ever seen the DUB of this anima Leon’s voice actor alone made the anima a 10/10 for me

I was surprised this one was as good as it was. I assumed it wouldn't survive the three episode test; but I was wrong. I'm definitely(hopefully) looking forward to season 2.

I'll admit it I read the light novels and I was genuinely surprised by how good it was. It does get a bit ridiculous considering Leon gains another waifu every volume but I can turn off my brain when that happens.

The mc carried the anime so hard

The greatest 7/10 anime I've ever seen if that makes any sense, something like this or Iruma demon school holds my attention episode after episode, but I'll drop objectively better anime (in terms of animation and sound design) like 86 for after a few episodes.

Bruh!!!! This was one of my personal favorite hidden gems of this year I pretty much agree with like 99.99% of everything you have said in this year, including saying the Angela is best girl right under the queen (that part in the anime absolutely slayed me lmao) I'm so glad more and more people are waking up to how good this anime is! I really hope it gets a season 2 because I want to see where this story goes. Leon is like my spirit animal and his antics are a delight Also you're editing is top notch dude! Good video my friend

I hate yet love this anime so much Leon is relatable (Well to me...is that a good thi-), he doesn't give a shit, utterly shameless and money-hungry I heard the summary and jumped on the train just to see him rail (As in destroy...) his enemies, I'm a sucker for revenge-ish plots, the satisfaction and self insert (Though not really self insert to me, I just liked seeing the enemies get fucked over, with a slight tint of my narcissism kind of showing) The concept is so simple, yet I never thought I'd enjoy it so much, I'm glad Leon isn't really the quote on quote "nice guy" and he went out of his way to give his last "Fuck you" to the whole school...just to find out he got enrolled again thanks to Angela's father, my man also really tried to court the queen, his shamelessness is endless it's baffling yet entertaining 10/10 would watch again

I’m currently on Book 7 and i honest too god have never been so damn into an Isekai before but this one finds its way of taking the cake even if i’m not a big harem isekai guy. if it wasn’t for the added Harem effect the dude accidentally pulled Leon and Angelica would be my pair for couple of reasons. *Her story was technically supposed too end after the duel so but she remains so he basically prevented her bad end. So the remainder of her story is essentially tied too him for getting involved. *After the engagement with Julius is off she’s basically on her own at this point which is where if Livia still got her love interests that would leave Leon and Angelica to be romance interests. *As stated she wasn’t really bad and spoiled compared to the rest of the girls at the academy, simply her role in the game was to be the Antagonist, but most of her reasons are pretty understandable. Now like i said read manga, read the novels so i know what happens in case any other dudes come too say stuff, so no spoilers for anime only dudes. …but honest too god if she wasn’t married the Queen would be coming with me too build our own kingdom, she is best girl tier.

I liked the anime so much that it actually got me into reading its light novels... something like that has never happened to me before.

Just watched it myself now. I honestly loved it.

One of the best protagonists I know of, and one of the most interesting isekai/harem stories I've seen. Succeeding in a classist, harsh feministic world using future knowledge, OP mecha powers, mixed with douchebaggery, and slapping rotten people in the face with the asshole hero they deserve.. FUCKING AMAZING! 😆👌🏻 MC still gets beaten, accused, jailed, etc. but it's still a great story

Actually the anime wasn't a good adaptation of the source material. Especially the animation was really bad. And the pacing was off. But the it still did passed some of the good and the bad things of the LN. You mentioned that Leon has this thinking that he can't be with a girl because he's a mob. You just don't know how bad this side of him in the LN later on. I really enjoyed this anime and the light novel itself a lot. I know it's a trashy show but overall Leon is a fun mc to follow. Marie slowly will become to be a character that is much more interesting. And Leon's interaction with her are interesting. Also she has an interesting backstory too. I kinda wish this anime gets season 2. Also the author has other light novel called "I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire!" it's fun too Another wacky MC

Here's some spoliers from the LN. Marie's daughter from her previous life reincarnated as the Princess and Daughter of the Queen. There's over 5 reincarnators in the world, two are the main characters from the sequel to the otome game. The Elves are man-made bioweapons. lol, so true! Leon does eventually get married to both Angelica and Olvia. Yes, both. Mid-way through the series, no less! Leon dies. No. Really. He actually dies! WTF AUTHOR!

Leon's a goofball, but instead of being loved by everyone he embraces the Heel life. (Quick rundown for those not down with pro-wrestling lingo. Face = a good guy in a pro-wrestling match. Heel = the bad guy.) Heels love the boos. It gives them power. And Leon reaches peak power the more of a Heel he gets to perform. Points in its favor: Tea master Senpai - If you told me he and Prof. Elegance from Spy X Family with long estranged brothers, I'd believe it. 'I must date the Queen' - I'm just impressed someone finds a woman over 25 attractive. With all the lolicon going on else where this was truly refreshing. The Green Ranger - I think it's because the English VA uses their Whis voice from DB Super but he's the only one I liked. One thing I found exceedingly clever is how it is established this Dating Sim is S-tier trash. Full of tropes and clichés so that when we see these things later in the series they aren't cheesy they are fitting the cheesy nature of a trashy dating sim. Pod racing, mech battles in a fantasy setting? 1 dungeon for classes in Dungeon diving, cultural festivals and out-of-town field trips? It all gets lamp shaded by coming from a substandard game. This series parodies its genre to great effect. I'm satisfied with 1 season, but will eagerly make a season 2 appointment watching.

Maybe I'm insane, but this show just makes me want to know the deal with the oceans. Why is this a water world? What's down there, under the sea? These questions haunt me.

Despite being a horrible adaptation in terms pf production quality, this anime still shines With just the writing and characters. That was what made me seek out the LNs and I have to say the anime doesn't do it justice. Both the LN and Manga adaptation are freaking incredible.❤❤ So if you are even slightly interested in the series,I encourage you to go read them

Leon is my favorite MC in all of isekai, with a close second being Kazuma.

When i saw the anime title and cover art i thought it was going to be trash but it was one of the funniest animes i've ever watched. The MC is likeable since he's not a goody two shoes like 95% of copy-paste isekai MC's. Overall it's an enjoyable and funny anime.

The whole “I’m a MOB so I can’t be with someone in the main plot” I felt was the excuse the protagonist told himself for not believing he’s good enough. At the scene on the bike with Olivia when she tells him her feelings, he doesn’t use that logic, he desperately says they’re are better people and tries to use the power rangers as examples, essentially grasping as straws. That was my take away at least, because the “Im an NPC background character” logic after being so involved with the main plot is weird.

To be fair the other heroes in rising of the sheild hero are pretty much useless for some time but in later of the novel they are able to redem themselves and become useful. So I don't think the orginal five can be compaired to the other three heroes. As in the web novel they remain to be pretty much useless till the end. Spoilers: The most useful one is motoyatsu, due to his curse series he basically listens to everything what naofume says

to be honest, this anime wil be 10x better if they change the studio. Like the manga and Light novel art are hot but then the studio just come and be like "i run out of money" then make the anime look terrible. I refuse to believe that this anime and "the detective is already dead" have the same studio. They make Angelica look worse and weaker. Anyway, Marie is underrated, she has a good character build (in the novel)

One thing I’ll say about your criticism of Olivia. I’d argue that she’s intentionally meant to be bland, as she’s supposed to be the main character of a dating sim, she’s meant to be a self insert character for girls playing the game, and near the end of the season Leon realises he’s treated her as such which therefore means she has very little development, I’d like to think after the end of this season Olivia gets more personality and development due to Leon realising he’s basically halted her growth by doing everything for her.
