I LOVE my G3C. I have many pistols, different brands and for different purposes. I rotate my G3C and my shield plus mostly for my EDC. Don’t get me wrong, the shield plus is a knockout of a pistol, and I appreciate the legacy brand of S&W. But there is just something about my G3C. I shoot it more accurately than most of my pistols, I find it more comfortable. It’s just right for me (not saying it will be for everyone). I am 6’3” with big hands, and the G3C is just so comfortable for me. Has never failed me once at a couple thousand rounds. I upgraded the barrel to a black barrel from the Taurus website, have a rubberized talon grip, and use a Crossbreed Reckoning holster. It is my perfect rig. Again, maybe not for everyone, but ideal for me.
I'm only 5'6...I'm a guy....SHUDDUP....but I have the same opinion of it, its just super comfortable, has never failed on me, and I'm accurate with it. I try to make myself like more expensive stuff because I feel like I'm supposed to for some reason, but I always think to myself, "ehh, I like my g3c better...."
Taurus G3c is my daily EDC and I trust it with my life! I carry it in a IWB GF from Gun & Flower holsters! I use Winchester 115GR Jacketed Hollow Point or NOVX 65GR self defense round when in public! When I’m in the woods and don’t have my Taurus 627 Tracker 357, I normally carry 115GR FMJ in my G3c! Overall it’s never done me wrong! Great Video and Amazing Content! Keep Up The Great Work!! Respect Man!!!
My local rural king here in Florida have these on sale. 250 after rebate. Going to buy one this week. Love glocks but can't beat the price. Awesome video. Thank you.
@@spnfirearms I have it, too. The grip is not quite as aggressive, it has a loaded chamber indicator (I like them...), and the slide isn't as tight (has just a little looseness to it that is noticeable when you get the g3c), and the trigger has a thinner safety strip or whatever in the middle of it that sticks out (g3c trigger looks...is....more solid)...but I also love my pt111 g2. No issues out of it at all.
dude your videos keep getting better and better and you don’t have that disgusting ego that other guntubers have, great to see you’re almost at 80k, been subscribed since you’ve had 7k ☮️🤘🏻 stay safe and protected my friend
Very few guns I would suggest over the G series Taurus handgun (S&W, Glock, Ruger) 1. If you had the money you just wanted to spend 2. If you did not care for a manual safety 3. Wanted a american firearm with a nicer finish, but other than that these series of guns is the best thing out there is no competition for the price a lot of hate comes from gun snobs who think price is equivalent to product SIGp365 had it's issues, Canik mete mc9 had it's issues, PSA dagger had it's issues all of which someone would still suggest over Taurus because of "name brand and cost" Everything is a glock clone nowadays any way and if I ever spend $500 on any handgun it better be the real thing till then I'll take my glock clone that does the same for half the price. Thanks for doing the video SPN and wishing your channel keeps growing.
So I just picked up my G3C yesterday, after the mandatory three day waiting period. Of course, I took it right to the range last night after work. I also own a Sig P322, and a Canik TP9SF. Those two are great firearms, but neither something I wanted to use for a concealed carry/EDC. I also own a Taurus 605 revolver( 38 sp/357) that was given to me from a family member. I bought the G3C after contemplating many options for a carry firearm. It coming with three magazines from the factory, AND the current $30 rebate from Taurus, year end, made me decide to purchase it. As well as how it felt and it's size. I ran 100 rounds ( Winchester 115 grain target) through the G3C. Luckily, no FTF or FTE issues. I was honestly worried for the potentially being there. I will say the first thing that took me off guard was how hard the mags were to load, especially when compared to the Sig and Canik mags. I am hoping that the springs soften up a bit after putting more rounds through them. Also a little bummed that they did not come with a factory loader assist like the Sig and Canik came with. The gun fired really well and again no issues with that. Overall, it did not "feel" as nice as my other two firearms. Not bad. just not as good as finished and refined, That may just be the matter of comparing to $400 plus guns to a $250 gun. So long as it keeps firing OK at the range, I will feel comfortable to start carrying it as an EDC. The last and final issue I had, is that, for me, it shot drastically low and to the left on the targets. The sights are supposed to be set from the factory, so not sure why that was. I might think it was me, but I do not shoot that far off with my other pistols, so perplexing. Might have something to do with the extremely long trigger pull, until it comes up on the wall. Not sure. What are your thoughts, since you own a good amount of Taurus G series pistols? And don't get me wrong, I like this firearm, for what it is and all of its features. I am just hoping it smooths out after I get more rounds through it and break it in further.
They feel good when you grip them and mine came with 3 mags for the money I can’t complain. I have never had any problems with mine. Thanks for the video.
Taurus is no longer "CRAP" good weapons at an affordable rates. I really like my G3C I used it as my work CCW. I work construction so lots of dirt and Heavy duty work. Always shoots never has let me down. Inexpensive so I can afford to ding it up! Happy with it!
I have all the top brand pistols and a few Taurus. Ive never had a problem with Taurus. The G3, PT92, revolvers all have run great for me. Not flashy, but work
Just bought a G3C at a pawn shop that also had a Streamlight TLR-7A for a total of $266.00. I also have two G3 Taurus handguns that are tan and black, nice firearms for the money. One pawn shop got three G3Cs in only one week, so they are easy to find at a good price. One of my G3s I only paid $105.00.
I have the G3C also, hasn't given me an issue. It normally has nightstand duty but I carry it as well. I wanted the no safety version but the shop didnt have it so I just carry it safety off. I have other options but I wanted something with more rounds and something I wouldnt mind getting dinged up. The Taurus fit the bill! Im considering an 856 or 605 next
It's honestly fantastic. 300 rounds through mine and not a single issue. I cycled it regularly before I used it, cleaned it really good and oiled before shooting. Smooth and accurate.
Throughly cleaned (including striker pin), then lubed prior to shooting (115gr Blazer FMJ, 115gr PMC JHP, 124gr Blazer FMJ, 124gr Magtech FMJ, 147gr Federal FMJ)... not a hiccup yet. Adequate for one of my bug-out (emergency relocation) bags.
Picked up a couple of these at Vance Outdoors on sale for Buck 99 each. Only came with 2 magazines each though. They were also dry as a bone, and I put oil and CLP all over and in the internals. Haven't shot them yet, but ran function checks after disassembly and lube. Everything seems good. I'll submit a review if they suck.
FYI Mecgar sig p 226 18 round mags fit and run great! There is after market sleeves that fit perfectly! They are 1/2 price than Taurus mags. I'm an sig p226 owner this is why I bought this gun. G3c is a beater gun that I have no problem leaving in truck and not worrying about moisture living in the north with winter condensation.
Is that a removable fire control action and you can put into a larger frame like Sig 320 and IWI Masada? I see the ser# is in a recessed window and not on the pistol frame itself.
My New G3C came with a Non Polished Feed Ramp.....*jam* after *jam* after *jam*...finally replaced it with a Lakeline. No issues so far...unbelievable this got out the factory with a barrel shaking around and unpolished feed ramp.
I have a SCCY MX2 that is my backup pocket pistol. No issues with it ever, regardless of ammo. I DID Polish the feed ramp before I fired it the first time with a Dremel. You could have done the same thing with your Taurus. My G3C is my go-to CC gun. My Springfield XD9 is my nightstand pistol. I've had zero issues with any so far.
@@Bmac6867 It is "polished", though not as much as my SCCY is after I polished it. I think I will do the same for my G3C too just eliminate that as a potential issue.
I jumped on a G3 as soon as they dropped and I love it but I do wish I had waited and gotten the G3c because it would probably be in my carry rotation but with so many more compact options I have, I just never carry my G3. It’s been 100% reliable though and I have designated as my “ camping gun” … another good video btw
I've been considering picking up a taurus as of latley since I've been looking into these G series model's. I'm stuck between the G2C or G3C so what one would you recommend?
I have a spectrum a g2c a g2s a g3 and just yesterday bought a new g3 c went to range today with 300 rounds of mixed ammo of frangable jhp ant fmj ran it all it now my carry guess the sig will sit in the safe lol. Great video SPN will say my g3c came with no safety was 291 out the door
I have a glock 26 , xd9 and g3c . I can hit the target at the range with ease with g3c , unfortunately I having trouble with the 26 and so so with the xd9. Any advice would be appreciated.
This was the first pistol I bought I have 3 Taurus guns 2 revolvers and a g3c I think I paid 279 or 289? For the stainless slide which doesn’t show holster wear as much. Anyways this is a great little pistol it’s been 100 percent reliable with fmj and hollow points atleast the sig v crowns I carry anyways a few others tried also but it eats everything. It feels really good in the hand you get a lot of pistol for the money. I have more expensive guns that are from what you would call more reputable manufacturers but I can’t justify switching from the g3c as my edc it works it’s a great size pistol small enough we’re I can wear it all day but it’s big enough in the hand to shoot it comfortably. And it comes with 3 mags as said in the video good quality mags that’s a real plus. All 3 of my Taurus’s are newer made all with in the last couple years so I can’t speak to the past but it seems like they worked out the bugs and have really upped there game.
Just took mine out practice shooting the other day. I was hitting a 6" plate from 30 yards. Not gonna lie. I shoot it just as well as my Shield plus PC. Excellent value for the money.
I haven't had any issues with my Taurus firearms. I love about 3 hours from their facility, customer service good, my firearms have yet to jam and I use them for my edc gun.
I just got one of these a few days ago on sale for $250 and my god it's such a great gun! it's just so smooth I fell in love with it. I didn't even clean the thing before I shot it and punished the crap out of it, the thing still ran flawless. I usually don't recommend cheap guns but my god this one is the one!
Agreed 100%! Mine just run. Not a single hiccup or issue. Is it the best handgun of all time? Of course not but it’s a reliable handgun that’s affordable for most people
Great info there that I was not aware of regarding Sig employees going over to Taurus to design the G series…..I own the G2C and love that gun….I’ve got about 1000 rounds through it with no failures and the trigger seems to have gotten better over time…I’ve considered buying a G3C due to it’s improved sights and trigger for just a little more money…..But they are the same size so I was considering the Toro since it is a smaller pistol….Then I read about some of them firing when dropped? I will probably hold off a while and just go with my G2C for now….In the summer I carry a Ruger LCP MAX in the front pocket of my shorts…Nice 380 but a bit challenging to master for me outside of 5 yards at the range….Hopefully I will never have to find outside the range…..
Ngl bro I’ve had both actually had the G3c first and I really like the g2c more but maybe that’s just me…the sights are nice but I like the trigger on the g2c better but then again I have dainty lil fingers lol both are good ass guns though u rlly can’t lose with either they’re such a steal 🙂↕️💯
I edc a G3c. The only problem I’ve had is mine will not run steel rounds. So I don’t run steel. Wish it did but it doesn’t. I can live with that. As far as the finish on it. It’s a tool, all my tools are worn and used looking. I’ve given Taurus crap about QC and they still need work. But I’ll gamble with them before PSA.
They're still mostly made in Brazil. The Bainbridge stamp is on all their US market guns. The only ones they manufacture in the US are the ones they can't legally import. Mostly the guns without the manual safeties. I suspect they import incomplete/80% firearm frames into the US and only do finish milling for their true US manufactured guns.
1,200 rounds through mt G3C mostly Super Val reloads maybe 4/5 jams until I polished the feed ramp to look like a mirror. My only issue > > > the front sight keeps coming lose and I do use loctite. I called Taurus, they don't care.
Do you think the silver stainless steel slide option is better for getting around the the black finish issues, how it easily starts to get scratched and worn looking. Maybe the silver slide holds up better?
Just shot my G3C for the first time at the range today and I really like the way it shoots and feels in the hand. Hopefully it will be a good gun for me until I maybe decide to get a Glock one day
It’s not about it being cheap or expensive a good firearm is a good firearm period rather you got alot of money or not it’s a good grab period. I’ve put 250+ on upgrades and new parts for the G3c and can say regardless of the price I would still grab because it’s a great dependable gun
I carry shadow systems mr920 with a shadow comp and a cr920 elite and a cr920p. The G3c ain’t horrible. As long as you get a decent one, they’re quite alright. If you’re on a budget, they’re great. Weirdly the G3c fits my hand better than any other and I own a couple others. If you get a bad G3c you’ll know right away. I don’t hate it. Coming from someone that Carrie’s $900-$1400 handguns for EDC. I own a G3c $250 handgun. This inspires me to pull it out for farm use.
I've been looking at these for a beater work gun. I ruined my hellcat pro working under houses and wanted something cheap, reliable, and got the job done
ill say this.. carry it all the time show up at the range and 1 mag at 15 feet cut out the 1/2 inch dot. . It breaks down in 20 30 seconds.. feeds round after round I've never had a pipe or a block. . . fast running and clean. fun to mod as well. Not a sales man but if I would recommend a carry this is it under $300. A pure pocket security item. Even my wife who hates guns bought one.
I work in a gun shop and my take on Taurus is similar to yours. For the single mom who comes in and just wants to have something in the house to defend herself, I think the Taurus G3C or G2C is perfect. For the person who comes in and says they want to buy their first gun for primarily recreational shooting and to maybe build a collection, they might want to go with something else.
Don't apologize. It's called a clip. A magazine by definition isn't removable. And John Moses Browning in his 1911 patent application called a detachable box magazine a "clip". Unless you are greater than John Moses Browning, keep saying clip. That's why the military have been saying Clip for over 110 years.
I'm on board with it being budget, but honestly you can get m&p shield plus for 399 so 250-300 isn't too "budget" either way I have a g2c and several glocks and m&p I prefer the g2c over them
Taurus been having recall issues since 1997 which is still happening in 2024 with some of the GX4 pistols. Their quality hasn't really gotten much better, there's many negative videos on RU-vid on the Taurus 3c pistols and other Taurus firearms. Rather buy a SAR or Canik their quality are much better. Bought my first Taurus in 1985 and they were garbage than, has they gotten better? Yes, but there's still a lot of room for improvement.
I think glocks are the most returned and also most accidentally fired. Love your channel and your perspective. Had to throw that out there. I know you love your glocks buuttttt....
I know many gun smiths and gun store owners. The most returned are Taurus’s and kimbers. Glocks are possibly the most accidentally fired because they are the most popular handgun out there. But I haven’t seen any evidence that says that’s true. I would have to see where that data came from. Respect and thanks for the support!
i would get one but honestly for all the issues taurus pistols have id rather spend the extra money for something i can really depend on which sucks because they make really comfortable pistols
Great tool and at a great price point. Gun snobs don't like when the spent too much and something like this id actually just as good or better for less money. Haha!
Bought a Taurus PT 709 Slim cheap. It had an extractor issue. Absolute junk. Sent it in to Taurus for repair and they sent me a new G2C because the PT709 was no manufactured. Love it. It is my everyday carry. Wouldn’t trade it for a Kimber. Absolutely reliable.
