Sometimes I forget how easily manipulated Xbox fanboys are. Like you ate that marketing up quick, back riding Phil Spencer’s 13 teraflopper. Smoove, would you bet there won’t be a 5th game? A 6th? I'm glad Xbox is with Microsoft. Microsoft is always at the cutting edge of technology. Every Xbox iteration has been innovative and has pushed the gaming industry forward. I dont expect Sony to push the boundaries of gaming. All they ever wanted to do with their brand was sell consoles and make the Hollywood type movie style single player games they never have been good at putting on the big screen. Sonys priorities and Playstations purpose are hardly ever aligned.

Seems like a “feel out” move and I think everyone is kidding themselves if they think they know exactly where xbox will land in terms of its exclusivity long term. They’ve shown a desire to pivot to being more agnostic for a long time and I don’t think this move is anything beyond that (mainly a few old live service expansions). If they wanted to pull the plug on xbox as an exclusive platform they would have as the rumors suggested. We’ll see how they try to have their cake and eat it. There will probably be exclusive perks to being on xbox for a long while yet. It will be telling to me if they commit to another full console generation.

I'm a PC guy and I'm glad Xbox isn't going anywhere. Competition keeps companies humble and drives Innovation. Also Microsoft is so much more pro-consumer when compared to Sony and Nintendo. I also have great memories of OG Halo on the OG Xbox and the 360 era was incredible. Xbox emulating Sega would have been so sad to see and bad for the industry overall. RiP Dreamcast, gone but not forgotten.
