Totally agree. This is nothing like the prototype. Glad I decided to pre order the Hot toys sculpt. Remains to be seen if that turns out any better though.
7:57 The bank robber joker looks surprisingly good considering how old it is. A good reminder that we can still appreciate older figures while acquiring new ones.
You know, the first time I heard this idea that the influencer, reviewer batch or whatever was going to be better than the ones that came to regular folks hands I thought that would be crazy...but this video...damn. Kudos for spotting these.
I honestly have never heard of that till I posted my stories and collectors pointed that out. Started watching reviews and can't help but notice the difference between theirs and mine. Could it be coincidence, maybe either way it shouldn't be the case 1st or last batch. Quality needs to be consistent.
@@optical20 yea it was just something me and my buddy were talking about actually. But your video shattered a few glasses in my brain lol. Hope you get to check on this further cause I agree that the quality should be consistent.
Well.. thats already what I have said from the start.Inarts Joker is not good, he's just better than HT Joker which was made 10 years ago, that's simply it. Also, RU-vidrs like Justin and others which you see who received early batches are people that received perfect/good quality ones. Others who received later batches are with bad QCs or imperfect ones. So yes, you are 100% right and collectors from china are already aware. Its only collectors from the west who are not aware or its not widely spread.
Aaragon will be the same, and it has already happened to Battison, the collectors who right now are receiving the later batches are also experiencing bad QC issues. So yea... now you know why if that Joker is so good, would a collector wanna trade it off.
@@kdakda426 Can't generalize. I got the last Gandalf batch and my figure has no flaws whatsoever. On the contrary. The figure is perfect with all the accessories. Hot Toys can only dream of quality like this.
@marcels1062 I agree, it is not a blanket statement on my end, just an observation. However the fact that it exist (not just by me a lot have come forward since my other video) is another issue by itself. This shouldn't be a game of lottery where you might get a good figure or not.
It’s because the collectors of the West live on hype only ,and if you dare point out the misses they will just label you a “ hater “ and call you “ blind “. I absolutely dislike every single in hand InArt Gandalf photo ,but they refuse to see it for what it is .
@@marcels1062my Gandalf came with a bad ring and a few of his hands didn’t go on the peg which is a common issue with him, just got my Batman, and Aragorn and both had multiple QC issues. I’ve never had a problem with a hot toys figure so in my book until Inart figures out their qc they aren’t anywhere near hot toys.
That’s what I have noticed from people’s photos of InArt figures ,the later the batch the lesser quality …. Which is quite worrisome ,because not only do the later batches have to wait the most ,but they also suffer in quality and likeness ,while paying the exact same prices .
That's what I heard too, a lot reached out to me and honestly I didn't know anything about it since I don't really follow inart that much. I just learned from it from the collectors who reached out, it can be a coincidence but either way, first or last batch.. it should be consistent.
@@optical20 I mean is quite visible if you check the photos posted on the collectors groups , from the early batches to the later batches the figures people show off in hand ,look worse and worse , even if we don’t count the significant increase in QC issues complains piling ,on the same groups for each later batch ,the photos steak for themselves .
So glad I missed out as I tried to get this. More than happy with the 5 Hot Toys versions I have. Glad to see you will talk to Inart, many people just settle. Fuck that, you have to try and get good service.
Criticism is super important because it's how things improve! We all just want the best figs possible so if people are saying InArt and Hot Toys can do no wrong aren't helping really haha.
I agree, we as consumers have to keep any company honest…if something is wrong we have to bring it to their attention immediately …then we have to wait to see how they respond and their action they take to resolve the iif they even do…there are companies that will ignore or try to do a bait. And switch…to me that will determine a great company to support and have confidence in if that makes sense
@@marcakins3373 definitely, maybe i just had a really messed up copy and thats not completely their fault and out of their hands sometimes. However whatever happens after i contact them is now on their hands .
I was the one who traded with him. To be clear. I never tampered or put a cheap fake. It is a nice figure. I’ve known Optical20 since 2017. We have done a plethora of trades. That being said I noticed the quality wasn’t much better than DX08 Joker. Different actors. However I wasn’t super impressed. I’ve owned 4 inart figures. The price vs the quality? Not worth it. Jail cell Joker looks like 1990 called and got a perm. Looks like corners cut. I have just examined my Pennywise. It’s solid. I’m just glad I got him at a lower price.
The bug eyes are awful… I owned the sculpted hair verson and always felt something was off about the face, your video made me realize it’s the eyes Inart Hype is so weird. HT created this 1/6 high end collecting niche, has decades of good faith, and the collectors turned on HT so quick. Before anything was released people were calling inart the king. Incredible.
This is one great review! You actually compare the figure to the 1/1 reference, something that's never been done by other reviewers and the manufacturers for that matter. I gotta agree the QC and production issues are thorns on Inart side. I hope they resolve this soon, I still want to see 1/6 Wonder Woman from them.
You bring fair concerns , I am not gonna lie…for rooted hair, it seems like a gamble …some looks great and some looks off…I love my figures, you definitely have a right to air your concerns and address the flaws to the collecting community
Absolutely, and I get it not all figures will look the same because the nature of rooted hair. I also thought that putting the sculpt in a separate container is a good way to make sure it preserves the style as intended. With that being said, when it is completely diff from the proto, we will see how they will handle my (not so isolated) incident.
I am pretty u0pset about what I had to endure, I spent hours trying to get the hair right, granting maybe I suck at fixing hair (that's a possibility too). The point is it shouldn't be this hard considering the price.
Luckily my final batch Gandalf looks like the first influencer batches. I've seen pictures of the Joker that are all over the place. I probably done with InArt after I get Aragorn and the Cavill Superman. Maybe I'll get Legolas and the Reeve Superman, but we're looking at probably 2027 for those being delivered, so...
I mentioned the eyes day one. They are so off to me. Mine only looks good when i have his head tilted down. The head is big. But im glad i went with the scuplted. But I'm really excited for the artisan joker i got coming. I feel he's going to destroy all, and i have a few customs. That's just me, though. But i do love my inart joker. But just saying the eyes bug me. Good vid and you made good points
Had I have the sculpted, maybe my reaction will be diff. I really was expecting more. The artisan Joker.. From the proto I wasn't a big fan of the hair ( i feel it was too thick) hopefully it gets better closer to the release.
@@optical20it is thick, but the other photos make this look like a 3rd party. 😂 the ones Justin posted are f beautiful. But hopefully they thin out the hair some. Either way the sculpt looks amazing. Hopefully it comes out like that or better
Nah man, you have every right to feel the way you do. That's a lot of money only to receive a lesser quality product. Even the white paint on the nose is very heavy in comparison. I think HTs will take the W on this one and for a lot less money. But, we shall see 🤷♂️
I have the joker and mine is perfect...I have the Gandalf, the Penny...and all these pieces crush any hot toys...now...if something is wrong I'll say it...the Aragorn's head doesn't I like it and I complained...you have to complain for them to improve...but you have to know that these pieces are more artisanal, the production times are longer...
I agree, if everything works out, they deserve all the praise since for what I see, they make good products. Mine isn't doesn't mean everyone's is, not the question is how will they handle a situation like mine? With HT/sideshow/BBTS I know what to expect.
Where did You buy it? And I’m curious to hear how that store’s and/ or Inart’s customer service will be… By the way, I have Inart’s rooted hair Pennywise. The sculpts are great; very detailed on mine. As is the hair.
I got this on a trade but i can tell you where he got this from. A reputable dealer, however also not known into handling issues, even if you are an “influencer” that is affiliated with them. Can you just imagine how i would be treated. I contacted inart directly so we shall see how they will respond.
I thought i was the only one who got underwhelmed by the final product. Good thing sold mine for the HT sculpted version. One thing I love about HT are their sculpts. 90-95% of the time they are the same as the prototype. In terms of tailoring though, inart is better in all their released products overall
As someone who owned this set the jail cell sculpt 100% was changed from the proto and it was also over sized. It's not the lense it's the sculpt is over sized.... I don't get why they changed it. The normal was amazing though, mine had the white in the hair etc was really good. I can't defend the jail cell sculpt though.
Thank you for confirming that, I was like this head a bit oversized. Like you, my purple coat wasn't 100% like the proto either. But I was fine with it, I actually liked it.
I agree, we (my wife and I) tried frizzy thing spray, curling serum, and gel. the end result was the one on the video. ( it was worse before we did all those).
You are one of the lucky ones, That is exactly my point and its not just me, when I posted this story on Instagram a lot more collectors told me their experience, they tried fixing it, styling it as so do i. And eventually just accepted it. it shouldn't be a game of lottery.
Honestly, I 💯agree, you provided them with your hard earned money for a product you had to wait for and hope you get something you believe they would fulfill…if you are not happy with what you receive you should bring that to their attention…it’s your money, if you aren’t happy with what you received, get your money back or a better product..to me that is how you should do with anything you buy …
absolute facts. Also its not even about just being happy or my expectations were sky high.. I was fine with the purple coat not being 100% to the prototype. Not the actual actor, just the prototype. But the jail scene is just far..... We will see how they handle this inquiry of mine, a good company is not measured how well they are when things are going right, its how good they handle when things go wrong.
@@optical20 Damn man, maybe it was one of the last batches when they hired the new rooters. Maybe reach out to Zach from CW cause they had a line of contact at one point. This has got to be addressed as a community or else they'll think they can do it to anyone going forward. Styling the hair I get, but your's ain't even close.
Even though I'm very happy with mine, you're objectively correct with pretty much all of your observations. The hair is too thick, the PERS is limited (and fragile, mine broke, thankfully I switched it to SERS which gives more range), the eyes are too recessed and close together, the iris' are way too big, the jawline, especially on the jail scene sculpt makes it look he has swollen chops.... If you get the hair looking right: thin the stranding, bring it in closer to his face, have loose strands falling forwards down the left side of his face (purple coat sculpt), have the hair swept back on the jail sculpt, water-down the hairspray to make the hair appear less clean/conditioned and more dry/greasy. If you do this, and as long as the eyes aren't centered, the portraits still look excellent, particularly under more natural lighting.
I am trying to fix the hair, I can't get it to look like the other ones, I will keep on trying though, I see there is good in here just hiding underneath all these hairs lol.
@@optical20 Keep at it, and good luck. We shouldn't have to this and it can be a pain the backside, but rewarding also, a way to really improve and distinguish your figure. Trust me, when you finally fix the hair and get the eyes in a good position, you'll see how transformative it will be, imo taking it from a 7/10 to a 9/10, with the eyes being the remaining achillies, something Inart levelled up with on their Gandalf. I hope to see an update video on this from you.
100 💯 percent agree my brother seen the same details. That's why I don't trust certain influences I go by my in hand impressions not anyone else your the first to be honest on comparison is others just want that promotional payday by companies .
Not gonna say this is on you. But the reason your copy look the way it is, is all because you refuses to properly style and futz with the rooted hair, clothes.
I actually did style the hair, that's the problem. Not sure what else would I do short of getting scissors and cutting the hair. If that's what's being required of me I am not sure I have the skill set to do that.
If you complain like that you should compare a batch one figure with yours to back up your claims. You just showed the prototype. But I agree that later batches look worse.
@@mucknstrunz i dont want to get other videos of creators but one can easily go and compare those to this videos. Either way the proto should look atleast close to the final regardless of early or later batch.
I didn’t you say you bought this secondhand?. This looks like whoever had it before mess the hair up for issues or just not knowing what they’re doing, but it just needs some fixing up. The money that the cost that you’re talking about also did go from being a collector of both into the mannequin. That’s a custom manikin. I mean, the quality is durability the way you can move it and durable the joints are it doesn’t feel fragile like a lot of Hot Toys. Out of all the Hot Toys I own all of them I would say that this joker quality of the actual plastic doll is way way up there even the way the neck and the joint moves for the head is doesn’t feel like it’s gonna break or something cheap expensive
No I already spoke to the original owner, he didn't mess with the hair. Also this is not the only figure I saw with this issue. As far as the body, there is nothing special about this body, someone already tear this figure apart. The body of the hot toys you are referring to are the old bodies, so far I 've been collecting for a long time I haven't broken a body yet, hot toys, third party or not. The money went to the rooted hair, and extra details. Which I both didn't get a good quality of.
I am not certain what Inart Joker you have, but the one I got... Which was in August of last year... meaning one of the last batches... Looks nothing like that. I think someone duped you on these sculpts or something. The hair on yours looks way too full compared to what I have. If it were out already, I would say you had the Hot Toys Artisan Joker sculpt. I wouldn't blame the later batches though, you don't know that for sure. You are just assuming. I personally feel I am cery critical of Inart, they have missed the mark on some figures, such as Hermoine.
I don't see how anyone can "dupe " me if this is still an Inart joker sculpt. Short of giving a diff head sculpt ( which I know they didn't). At this point a lot of people have stepped forward telling me they had issues with their Joker too, so either I am just assuming or its just a weird coincidence, at the very least we can say they are very inconsistent with these head sculpt at which price point.. They shouldn't be.
Prison joker face is much too wide The hair is terrible But if it's not perfect Don't buy it They're laughing at you if you buy it Complain and boycott till they get it right
You SHOULD be mad. If I paid the same as the other guy and got this shit, that's horrible. It's literal bait and switch. It's disgusting, unethical, and dishonest. It looks bad dude.
The jail cell version looks better than the main version but InArts jokers are kind of disappointing, yes. I do think the Hot Toys may end up looking better though. Gandalf turned out better in comparison
