I was married to a hoarder for 50 yeas. My husband collected and sold books and records. Our house was completely stuffed with boxes and papers. He would never get rid of anything. We also had storage units he rented. When he died 5 years ago, I was happy to finally clear out all the clutter. He saved papers from the 197'0's. Like rental leases and car loan paperwork, etc. There are thing I thought I would never get rid of, but I DID, and it didn't kill me. I had a leak in my A/C unit and my closet floor got wet. There were things I stored there, but they got wet and I HAD to throw them away. It took years to go through everything. There are still a few thing I saved, but I need to go on with my life in a uncluttered world. It's best to get rid of those things now, together and not leave them for your children to deal with!! We need more men videos talking about it. There all millions of woman talking about how to do it but lot of missed men side perspective on this. I think I am unhappy about it but I need to respect the things he likes. I liked when you spoke about breaking their spirit 😢❤

I can’t declutter, sad. My husband and I have agreed that I will not get rid of things he acquired before me 😅 it’s hard it’s the American culture. This is for a very minority of people. Look at people’s garage they don’t have cars in it. Dust collectors that I have to clean. 😊
My fiance has helped me decluttered and helped me stop buying stuff. When i was pregnant i became a hoarder twice 🫣. He chose to clean the shed and basement areas in spring, summer and fall. Which has barely anything in it now. Decluttering is responsible for our actions.
