Hong Chau and Diane Kruger sat down to talk about inhabiting characters who've experienced loss, feeling like they're meant for a particular role, and more. bit.ly/VarietyS... / variety / variety / variety
HONG CHAU is going to be a Hollywood LEGEND. She plays her characters so richly! Fabulous, phenomenal performance! Her acting skills are superior, superb, supreme! She’s gold! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
14:01 "do you have to audition much anymore? I feel like you don't". If Diane Kruger thinks it wasn't fun to audition, imagine being an actor who's a minority auditioning for roles that aren't leads. So happy for Hong Chau who had a featured role AND rocked it out in "Downsizing". Let's support more story lines that showcase diverse characters!
Adrian Bunzoc that's a good comment. But auditioning can be a beautiful thing and it is the process. Listen at James Woods he keeps on auditioning even today after 2 Oscar nods
Hong Chau was incredible in downsizing, and it seems like Diane Kruger didn't even take the time to watch it. She made every effort to talk about her own movie even when asking Hong questions. Like she thought she was miles above Hong. I left this interview thinking how well spoken and talented Hong is, but with a nasty taste in my mouth in regards to Diane.
Yeah agreed but its never going to happen because to be considered for a nomination. You'd have to be either black, gay, lesbian or a rapist. Sad but true in this liberal Hollywood.
Keep up the great pairings. I feel like I learn a lot about actors I would have never otherwise taken a second look at it without these videos. Great to hear their insights as actors too.
Fell in love with Kruger in Inglorious Bastards. I could see the baggage Of talents she has, although, In the Fade hasn't been released in Costa Rica yet.
how this does have only 53k of views... as a vietnamese girl she does very good job with accents and even speaking english fluently (her first language she learned was vietnamese, but of course she lived for the biggest part of her life in usa so that helped) by watching these "actors on actors" clips i realized how good actors can be at doing the interview, but i guess all of the pairs that were chosen for this series should know each other properly, to manage to ask difficult questions they need to know everything about the other person... when hong chau was asking such long and hard and very informed questions i was amazed... you wont see even some professional journalists asking questions so well.
Both beautiful, English-as-a-second-language actresses have gotten noticed for the roles they portrayed in their respective movies. Hoping for continued success to both women. Would have enjoyed a longer session with them talking to each other, which seemed to end abruptly.
More people of color interviews/insights please! Especially more Asians in Hollywood. Also, I hope Hong Chau help make changes in Hollywood and not just play along to it. The same old roles Hollywood typecast for Asians is often still very problematic.
