Hong Kong Style Milk Tea is a bold yet smooth tea that's popular in Hong Kong, but also in Bubble Tea Shops ♥ Save money by getting a loose leaf Hong Kong tea blend and brewing it at home to make the perfect cup of HK Milk Tea. Like yours more creamy? Just add more evaporated milk to your preference. If you don't have loose leaf tea, you can also use Black Tea bags (suggested links below) ♥ Subscribe for more of Angel's videos → bit.ly/1HbtZaI (continued . . . )

Hey Angel I’m not a bubble tea kind of guy but I am an Angel Wong’s kitchen type of guy, absolutely smitten with your channel. Great job, the camera person is doing a great job as well.

I find when I add evaporated or condensed milk to black tea it tastes like the tea sold at the Asian markets. So yummy. I agree it is best to add sugar right after steeping the tea. It is hot enough so the sugar to distribute well.

I'm gonna try this. I love tea, and what I'd normally used would be fresh milk, never crossed my mind to try evaporated milk. Thanks Angel.

That brew looks beautiful! I really appreciate the tip about cooling the water, I started using Brooke Bond’s Red Label loose leaf tea, but I was putting straight boiling water and the taste was so bitter within just seconds of brewing, but no flavour at the same time. Thanks and I look forward to making this style of tea tomorrow!

Luckily I am from Hong Kong, so this video would be perfect for Hong Kong viewers like me. Although I am not a tea drinker, but the Hong Kong style milk tea is one of Hong Kong’s signature drinks.

Nice video! It looks like a good drink. I do have one small suggestion. A lot of people who use a chemex, or similar paper filter brewer, will rinse the paper filter with hot water first before adding the dry coffee to it. They say it helps get rid of the papery taste from the filter. It's not a huge issue at all, just something to consider. Take care!

How do I say this....I love your channel and everything about you and your channel....I've been a long supporter but this is not 香港奶茶 it's not right to call it that....it's hard for a milk tea not to be tasty...who doesn't love sweet tea with milk but 香港奶茶 cannot be simplified into this....I'd say you have a recipe for a good milk tea. There's so much more that goes into making a HK Milk Tea... blending of several different teas and they must be specific to region.... usually Ceylon...you can't just use any black tea....also using a paper filter on top of a basket filter doesn't equate to straining it 4 times through the silver stocking....I've been on a life long mission to make a proper Milk Tea and proper Masala Chai at home....and I realize that it's hard to reproduce HK or Mumbai in your kitchen....but you are very creative and very talented and I know that you can do better than this...

This brother knows what's up. Hope we can somehow share what we've learned on our journeys to making HKMT from home. I've found something resembling HKMT, and is something I could drink on a daily basis, but still so far from the real deal.

I love Chinese bubble tea and also milk tea found throughout Asia. the first time I had bubble tea, it was at an authentic chinese restaurant here in England. Since then I make it regularly, If you like the flavor I recommend UHT long life milk, it has a nice creamy flavor that enhances tea and coffee.

Thanks for your video. I, too, am a big fam of Hong Kong style milk teas. I've tried many tea leaves (mixing mainly CTC Ceylon tea), but to create the HK bitter tannic taste, you need to use a cloth strainer, boil and simmer for 10 mins and "jong" the tea as in running hotwater and tea through the cloth strainer. But tea specialists will cringe about the boiling and simmer part as it destroy the antioxidants that supposedly is beneficial to drinkers..

Angel, can you do a video on how to make Hong Kong style cocktail buns? :) That or the coconut tarts with that cherry on top. So good when paired with Hong Kong style milk tea! Like you, I either get my tea from HK friends or on Amazon there is Son of Hong Kong brand where the tea blend I find super strong and flavorful. Very authentic. Hits the spot everyday now that most of us are working from home.

The easiest way is to mix Lipton and Rickshaw brand tea in 3:2 ratio, total 5 tea bags for 500g of water. Use equivalent weight of tea leaves, if you want a better result. As a start, this can work well at home.

@@rosalie.e.morgan yeah, a sachet should be a teaspoon so that we know how much we are using. the same as a cube or 'lump' of sugar. its all made easy for tea making
