Always respected the Honky Tonk Man and love these interviews. I enjoy listening to his stories. I seriously could listen to the Honky Tonk Man talk all night.

If HTM died tomorrow, the thing I will remember the most about him are the killer shoot interviews he has done.

That’s because you’re a little boy and can’t remember him when he was a wrestler

Growing up just east of Charlotte Ric Flair was household name. A lot Mid Atlantic and NWA TV tapings were filmed in Charlotte or Greensboro. I was lucky enough to go to a few as a kid in the early 80s at the television studios or what was then the Charlotte Coliseum. Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, Sergeant Slaughter, Jimmy Valiant, the Koloffs, the four horsemen were just a few I got to see in person. I miss those days. Great wrestling.

I remember laying on my grandparents giant bed watching WWF when I was a kid and 1 of my favorite things was the HTM smashing the hell out of somebody with the guitar. He was a great wrestler and 1 of the best characters of all time.

The older generations of wrestlers typically never give up the gimmick. I think it's really cool and shows their commitment to entertaining the fans.

The only person Honky Tonk Man might have to thank for his wrestling success is Elvis Presley himself. From what I have heard John Burrows is a big fan also of Honky Tonk Man.

Ric Flair owned Knoxville with Jack! He wasn't sabotaging anything. As world champion, he had to go where the NWA made him go

Why would you want to become a wrestler? So many seem to end up completely broke both physically and financially. Except for the very, very top guys like Cena, Undertaker etc. To me it wouldn't be worth it especially when most of their careers don't last very long and you have very little control over what you do.
@trappenweisseguy27
@trappenweisseguy27 8 лет назад
It's a suckers bet. Only the top guys like Hogan and Flair make huge money and even they end up with ruined bodies. Then Vince throws them out in a dumpster and says next!. All the jobbers and lower guys do not live financially or physically rewarding lives. Drug addictions,dying before 40,broke having to do porn etc.

@@trappenweisseguy27 so true and so sad. So many wrestlers have either have destroyed themselves or even worse have died super early deaths that are 100% related to their career in wrestling. Hogan for example used to be 6'10" and now is like 6'3" from all the back surgeries, still tall non the less but just shows the toll it takes.

I like Ric Flair the wrestler but I bet he was and maybe still is an awful human being . His own family didnt care for him ( his wife and kids ) on that 30 for 30 . He thinks possibly had a problem with alcohol .

Richard Fliehr is a perpetual screw up who has and continues to make dumb mistakes in his personal life. Ric Flair is the greatest pro wrestler that ever lived. That's the one I will remember.

Damien Jones Exactly. Flair doesn't draw 60% of what Hogan did from 1984-1990. But logic has no place in wrestling debates. Hogan didn't have moves because he wasn't ASKED TO.
