HONOR Magic V2 - 2 Months Later! 

Hey Chaps! Would you switch to a Foldable?? 🤔

This is exactly what a foldable's default dimensions should be. A fairly comfortable size for the folded screen(current 6.3" - 6.6") and just stack 2 of those to make the larger screen. Next up is catching up with the camera and battery life of the non foldables. And That would bring the evolution of foldables to match up and exceed the capabities of a non foldable.

I never considered a foldable until this one came out because of the screens, size, and weight. Like the tech finally got there.

I would seriously consider a Magic V2 as my first dip into the foldable phone market. It looks good, it's a good size, cameras seem ok and generally looks to run smoothly. The lack of wireless charging is a small minus though

Very cool! I use the Galaxy fold 3. And the Honor V2 here looks great! My biggest gripe with the Samsung ones is the small front screen. If this comes to the States I'd pick it up. Great review! Hopefully, the stylus will be available here!

Nice video and breakdown/analysis by you. I just picked up a mint 512GB Purple variant off Swappa for $1400 and am EXCITED. I just ordered it and it should be getting to me by today(10/2). I lived in Taiwan for 12 years so I've had Chinese phones in the past: Huawei, OPPO, Vivo, Xiaomi. I am just in LOVE with the form factor and how thin it is. This would be an immediate buy for me. I would even import it from China if it had google app support. I've been sticking with the the z fold 3 waiting for a folding phone with some real improvements and this one has them for sure.

Great review as always! I absolutely love the look of this device, and have been excited about it for some time. If the battery can last me through a day, and if the camera can trade blows with the Samsung Fold4 and Fold5, then I will absolutely get one when it gets a UK release… …oh, and I’ll go for the (slightly thicker) purple one as it looks amazing!

I think Honor should now release V3 worldwide next year within 1 or 2 months after China launch rather than releasing V2 at the end of this year, if they are planning to release.

Great review. I was expecting this to be available after the IFA presentation, but I was let down. So I did get the Fold 5 with a good deal, but I am still hoping they will launch an Google services optimized Version maybe at the start of 2024. I will definitely buy it.

Wish there was a US version. That’s how a foldable should be. People thought I was crazy when I said we should have a foldable with the same size screen as a standard smartphone. Samsung needs to get on this. They would kill the market with this design.

Okay so I love the idea and I would have one.... however no release until next year is a bit rubbish. But I think I'd rather wait for this than get the Samsung 5 or pixel fold

i think this is one of the best implementation before the rollable version is ready. would love one day to have a bigger foldable screen for watching a video

Never been so excited about a phone so much in couple of years, I'm definitely excited by Huawei again I'm definitely thinking of getting one hopefully I'll buy it when prices come down to around $1000, Even second hand, I hope it works in U.S. and UK. Wish it had an under display camera on the main screen instead of the hole punch. Love that feature on the Galaxy Folds. Otherwise this is perfect!

Very good review. The best of both worlds is the expression you used and clearly defines the V2 as well as the Honor Magic 5 pro which I own. The V2 for not being a compromise and the HM 5 pro for being the best android (my biased opinion), but also have some ios links glued to it which are perfeclty implemented.

It really depends on the underlying concept... Do you want a normal phone + small tablet (Honor V2)... Do you want a smaller phone + a bigger phone (Google Pixel) ... Or do you want to always use the bigger screen once both your hands are free and just need a highly functional one hand outside screen (Fold)...

Yes, the outboard screen sells me on this phone. Possibly the thinness of the phone as well. If I'm carrying a flag ship phone. currently the samsung s22, and the honor is basically the same size but has a table view. Sold.

Would definitely be getting this if i could get on contract in UK this year. I would even buy outright if I had to, and if I could find a reputable grey import then would seriously consider. If however, it's not here until say Feb then I'll be waiting for the next big thing. Been waiting for something exciting since mate 20 pro, this and mate x5 to a lesser factor are first to make me sit up and look. All other foldables to date have looked like expensive novelties and rough prototypes. A rollable phone would be great too. I first heard about this future tech in early 2000s, 20 years later and they've still not got it to market.

I imported mine to the US, few things I don't like and something's I .iss from the z fold 4 but it's still a breath of fresh air

Jealous of the battery inside it. My Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 with it's 4,400 mAh battery isn't just enough for me.

Would like to know does the 'Parallel Space' (the security space that allowed you to open a same app at the same time) still in the software? Coz I saw this function from China Reviewer. Hopefully they remain this function in their Global Rom.

I really like the look of it and it's the only foldable iv been tempted with... I used a fold 4 and just couldn't get on with it thank god I never bought one it was good unfolded it's that narrow front screen

I so hope this is released. I have been holding off buying a foldable for months as this is the one I really want. I do notice the Honor UK site seems to suggest it will be released. But maybe not until early 2024. But I'm prepared to wait.

1600 nits on the inside which is lower than the 2500 nit outter screen. Still beats my phone at 1000 nits, i would be stoked with the 1600 nit inside screen.

I'm a current owner of the Samsung s21 range in I've been looking to upgrade as I've had the phone now for 2 years want to go into the foldable market and this honour seems to take every box I hope it gets launched in the UK

I've heard Z fold (which I have) is better quality hardware, better software (plus Labs andGood Lock to enhence and customize software and making all apps split screen), task bar, better support, better display of apps, water resistant, wireless charging, power share, better ecosystem,SPen support ( with its own plethora of features), main camera shows all buttons when flipped to take selfie.....etc🎉... I really do love how thin this is and how good it looks on the main display as a regular phone. I think once this phone gets all these features though, maybe we can start comparing :-)

This is the first foldable that has peaked my interest. I love Samsung's products for the last 3 years they have been the best but this looks like it a no compromise deal for a great price. Glad to see it is releasing in the UK
