Flossy is the only one giving the Honor Magic people the attention they deserve. I didn't know there were so many fold phones out there. Thank you, Flossy, for educating us. They need to bring the orange version of this phone to the U.S. so it stands out in the crowd a little more. Great review of the Honor Magic fold phone.
No one is reviewing it because it's from China. No one wants a phone that's gonna spy on them and sell their data to the enemy. Fuck China and their overpriced phones.
Yeah, here in the US, it’s either Samsung or Apple and NOTHING ELSE! We never get news about all the great phones out there. It’s like when we were younger, there used to be video game magazines like GamePro and they would have a separate section talking about Japanese Import games that will never be available or playable Stateside unless you knew how to hack your Super Nintendo or PS1.

For Android I was thinking a S21,Pixel 6 or Pixel 6a pixel 7. For iphone i was either thinking a iphone se 3, one of the iphone 11's or one of the iphone 12's?
@@preston8872 If you're going with iPhone and you're getting a good deal, I would definitely recommend the 12. If you're going with Google, then Pixel 7. It's best to purchase the top end model if you don't plan to upgrade annually, that way you have a phone that will last as long as possible.

Agreed Jesse. Honestly if you want the outer screen to be the size of a normal phone and use it like that majority of the time.....then just buy a normal cellphone because you're less likely to unfold it if the outer screen is already that big lol. The majority of the time I use my fold its open, so the narrow outer screen doesn't matter to me. I have big hands too, but don't have issues typing on the outer screen. I like being able to use it one-handed easily when I'm on the go and need to use it briefly.
There is a link to the hinge on the Fold and it’s IP rating. That’s why all these other folding phones don’t have IP rating yet also don’t have the gap. The hinge tech in Sammy’s is way better and is part of its ability to offer the IP rating.
i believe more specifically it's not the hinge itself but the fact that they managed to waterproof both sides of the phone outside of it, so the hinge still lets water in but it doesn't get in the actual phone. That's apparently also why samsung still has the big crease.
One detail I like better about the other folds is the fact that they don't have that harsh flat edge look at the left corners (when closed) may have to do with the hinge design but it looks better when the corners are uniform

Yeah i want a Samsung foldable that's the size of a regular phone when closed... I don't care how big/heavy the phone will be lol. I want the fold to be a bonus feature on top of a normal galaxy s+ etc.
If only Samsung would make a fold that's comparable in every way to the s23 ultra, camera, size etc.. And an S pen on deck it would be curtains for everything else!
Samsung turning into apple. I had to jump ship and go back to the S series. Got tired of them dragging us foldable fans along. After the fold 3 i couldnt do it anymore.
Flossy, What do you think about the new Honor Magic V2?? I always remerber the segment when you say that if a fold have the specs of the Z fold4 but looks like the magic Vs, it would be a game over.. Well, I think that the magic V2 is just that.. For me, the magic V2 is the perfect foldable device.. I want it.!
The narrow screen is the reason I swapped Z Fold 3 for an S23 Ultra. I AM NOT SORRY. I had every generation Z Fold up to Z Fold 3. I'm not going back to the Z Fold until they make the front screen wider. It's the same issue with the Flip. I do have Flip 4, as well, but I love that phone even though the battery sucks. For that one, I'm looking forward to a bigger cover screen and better battery....and yes, make the damn phone wider
I don't understand why they go through the hassle of making a special screen just for the front of the Z Fold. Samsung should recycle each year's S Ultra screen for the front screen and it'll have the added bonus of making the inner screen wider too.
I also really hope sammy does make the outer screen on the fold 5 bigger, integrated Spen also would be good. Im.with Floss probably wont switch from my fold 4 without a bigger screen. What we all waiting for is the google fold!
Floss I'm with you on giving up on Samsung Foldable but I did that this year and went Vivo X Fold. That outter display on the Fold 4 is to small who want to walk around using the inner display all the time. Smh
The sad part is that Samsung Google and Apple will never listen. They won't put the charger in the box, offer free cases, or anything special. All they want is your money money money. Great Video

Thanks for keeping to mention the microSD card slot and headphone jack missing. It won't change anything as you are the only one to mention it, but it is great as you are not doing like your other "collegues" which will accept everything as their only goal is to keep receiving review units from manufacturers instead of reviewing the good and the bad of a product to push innovation forward.
The official price is 1600$. The official store announced it in Europe. Since i got a brand new Fold 4 in November for 900$ on a sale,i'd easily pass this phone

I have moved on I will never go back to single screen phone! I am in V2 settled in there after testing the Fold 4 which had a small front screen that I hardly could use it on daily tasks. Very small good I can talk about Fold 4 may be Fold 5 and 6 but I see many still favours V2 than the 6
It's cool seeing all of the new competitors in the folding phone market for sure. The biggest thing with this brand I've seen is that the software isn't that great. That there's quite a handful of missing things that brands like Samsung have built-in with their software
My understanding is it’s only available in China and Europe. Do you know where you can have it imported into the US? Strange it’s not on Gizstop or Trinity Electronics yet usually they’re on top of releases like this

Always lookin to check more boxes Dear Samsung Make the fold 5 outer display wider and you have space to put the S-pen. Brush up on DEX. Give it a makeover. Motorola ready for is my DESKTOP go-to. I have a better experience with it over DEX. I haven't given up on you Samsung completely. But you better shape up or you will not be ship out. At least to me. P, S . IR Blaster and charger would go a looong way. Put Dex on your flip phone as well. Motorola razor has ready for on their flip equivalent.
My first foldable phone was the Z Fold 3. Loved the phone but that outer display was a deal breaker. Enough to make me switch to the S23 Ultra. I don't get how other companies are able to make the outer display bigger and Samsung is on there 4th Gen for these phones and still hasn't figured it out yet. It's the biggest complaint amongst the fans of the Z Fold and yet they won't change it 🤔
Samsung has no problems making the outer display bigger. It’s not designed for two handed use, it works better with using it with one hand. I have the fold 4 an it fits perfectly in my hand the way I want and prefer. It’s about the width of the 13 mini that I like but taller. You’d be surprised by how may people prefer the size of the fold 4. A lot of people may not like the fold 4, but most do.
@bobbyhudson6326 I hear what you're saying... but you can't honestly say that you enjoy texting or just using the outer display in general. I get it's main purpose is the bigger display but not EVERY time you want to unfold the phone to send a quick text to some one or you just want to browse through IG without using 2 hands, etc

I think Samsung should make the foldable in series like ; A regular fold , Plus fold and ultra fold ... Because others may prefer the smaller outer display . So if they give that options it will be better .

What if you fold your device and you use it without ever opening it, and then after let's say 2 years you unfold it, does the screen handle that...all the phones that are sold is unfolded in the package. Not only honor I mean but all the folding phones...
800 nits only 90hz. I dunno, price is cheaper though. I currently own the Z fold 4. So i'm waiting a little longer for these new phone to reach gen 2 or 3 first. My z fold 4 outer display is useless to me as well. You nailed it way too narrow.

You know Floss I have the opposite experience with the Galaxy Fold, then I need to do q quick 1 HANDED thing, I actually like it better because it feels like an old school candy bar phone, with a bigger screen I have to awkwardly hold a phone to type 1 handed (reaching left side of keyboard).
Floss, how often does the manufactures of these phones update their software? I know samsung is gonna stay updating, but I don't know about these others

Samsung waited to the 5th iteration of the fold to get rid of the crease and the gap smdh. They knew what they were doing. Just a way to delay improvements to make more money. Who's to say the fold 5 couldn't have been the fold 1?!
I just got in the market for a foldable phone and this helped me alot to see all the options available, next you have to si the tecno phantom v fold so I can see of its worth it.

Did anyone get this to work on At&t? I can only get it to work on T-mobile and the data connection disconnects often. I have the global version and was expecting it to work with at&t, verizon... My verizon sim doesnt get any service when I put that in there. Thanks for any help I get..
