So true. I started watching when I saw the hoof gp. From then on went to watching everyone else. Nate has a very kind hand and a kind voice. Love it!! Nate does a great job and would recommend him for any farm.

Nate is a natural teacher; he explains why something happens to a cow’s hoof and then he shows and explains how to treat it. You can’t ask for better than that; the man knows his business and he would be someone you’d want to apprentice with.
Ì am not a farmer or hoof trimmer but started watching these trims from every you tube videos I could find. I moved out on my own after 33yrs of marriage and the one thing that helped was watching these videos. Helping my anxiety was huge. Thank you all.
This poor cow has suffered. So glad there are trimmers like you to care for them. Thin blade knives are the best ! Most of my kitchen knives I have had for 40 years!
Your videos are so relaxing after a stressful day working in vet med and I really like how you show the cows just living life. I have next to no experience with farm animals so its a pleasure to see it.

Trimming around that lesion really showed what the hook at the end of your knife does. You were able to get right up against the lesion without hitting it. Love your videos!!!
These are so nauseating yet extremely satisfying at the same time. These ungulates must end up feeling tons better after getting their hooves trimmed or getting a 1/4th inch hole flushed out. You do great work.

I keep thinking it'd be lovely to raise cows, but I feel like I'd always be worrying about sole separations and white line issues like this. This is what they call separation anxiety, right?
Dogs can’t digest cow horn, and can and do easily die from eating it. If he were looking out for his non human viewers, he wouldn’t have even thought of that. JS
I'm always confused when someone doubts something you do. They're probably not a hoof trimmer and if they are, they could probably stand to learn something from you, not the other way around.
People are so quick to question and doubt professionals just because they're on youtube, yet you have a fraud and a billionare who cant even upkeep his own microsoft bullshit playing doctor and people eat up their bs no questions.
Amazing work again, Nate. That looked like it must have been excruciating as it formed, glad to know people who do patient and careful work are out there. As a person who works with animals, I commonly see owners who show little to no care for their own personal pets, let alone cattle or other farm friends. It is always easier not to care, I'm happy to see you always do.
Did you EVER think that hoof whispering could be sooooooo entertaining?? I mean, I’m an equestrian, & have my own horses & I also have alpacas & a goat…. But if you asked me 6 weeks ago if I would be totally ADDICTED to “Nate the Hoof Guy,” I would have called you crazy 😝 BUT…. Here we are!
Love what I am learning. Can you please take a second and explain the discolorations, malformations of the non-lesioned claw? I often cannot tell which one is lesioned until you start working on it. Thanks.
I have a feeling Nate can see things that we can't with the camera resolution. I know when he zooms in tight, I can suddenly see a very clear difference between the corium and the horn that I can't see from the wider angle. I also suspect seeing the cow walk and _smelling_ when something is rotten helps to identify a problem.
What a good video for showing skilled knife work! Very satisfying for the "civilian" to watch, and the cow seems to appreciate it, too. She gave that little glance back to say, "Feels good, Nate," before she sauntered off.

How he makes sure the other hoof is clean to add the block. I swear I have OCD because I cringe when the good hoof is partially dirty when a block is put on. I let out the biggest sigh of content. Perfection at its best. ( I think I maybe going crazy hahahaha). OHH and I will put a P.S. here. How about a quick selfie with one of your favorite Moo Moo so we can see the man of the hour !!

Lived 10 years in Wisconsin and was surprised that the dairy land state didn’t have that many dairy farms. 😳Winter’s are painful cold and some of the best hunting and fishing.😀
Oddly enough, your comment about the knife being in the best condition when it is thin like this reminded me of ballet shoes. Ballerinas get their shoes and they are absolutely pristine, but impossible to dance in, and they purposefully break them down, much like how you purposefully sharpen your knives. They both get better with use until they're so worn down they need to be tossed!
