I always love how gentle you are and that you are never cheap with the Hexadine or the Acid. I showed my Friend who owns a Farm your videos and hes currently looking for a new Trimmer in Germany to get his cows done because compared to you his usual guy is an amateur that does more harm then healing :P
That trimmer just needs to go to one of Graham Parker's or Aaron LaVoy's trimming class & get certified, then he would do better and could start his own youtube channel and sell German hoof trimmer merch. 😆😄
@@bobbytartsinis5477Cows are tough, I've seen them get hit by pickup trucks then get up and run off like nothing happened, they're really strong and built MUCH heavier than smaller, spindly leg deer.
@@rawcado Good to know. I always hear Nate and Graham Parker also mentioning their pain tolerance is super high. But still nice seeing the 2 hoof trimmers trim carefully with sharp blades around their feet. 👍
Good on the farmer for going the extra mile and putting her on antibiotics, and especially good on you for taking such good care of her, she’s really on her way. 💚💚
Love these videos with the rechecks. So glad she is healing nicely, poor thing must have been in a lot of pain. You always take care good care of your cows Nate. ❤
A friend's QH mare did something similar. I guess she was pawing at something & sliced a chunk off her heel.... We never did figure out what she did it on. The owner of the boarding place said he'd had horses in that paddock for 30 years & she was the first to get injured . She had a talent for that ..
Some horses are just absolute geniuses at hurting themselves I swear! My friend’s very well trained, very talented barrel-racing horse was the most injury prone animal I have ever seen. She liked to joke that no matter how much she won, She would still never break even on that gelding 😂
Ive just noticed how many subscribers you have now compared to when I first watched , thats amazing Having said that its your care and attention plus empathy for the cows that makes your channel such a pleasure to watch. Thankyou for sharing
Wowzers!!! I was wondering about a traumatic injury like that. Thanks for the recheck vid, those are always very satisfying to watch. Peace to you and your family Nate!
Wow, what a professional! That looked pretty bad in the beginning, I would have never guessed that it would look so much better just two weeks after! Thank you for showing us the update and for the new video .... A treat as always.
Even this injury made me hurt! Poor thing and thank you for taking good care of her! I absolutely enjoy watching hoof trimming and you are one of the finest out there! Thank you for sharing what you do.
I love watching you grind the ends of the hoofs because you make them smooth enough and don't leave jagged ends that look like they could snag on something. Your skill with that is amazing. You really show your care!
Great work Nate(the BEST hoof trimmer on RU-vid🙌🏼) but what about the nubby on top(forgot what it is called!) It looked damaged as well. But I believe your theory is right. She must somehow got stuck and yanked out her leg. The cow thanks you for being there for her!😉 Glad she is on the road to recovery…..Blessings and best wishes from Canada🙏🏼❤️👋🏼🇨🇦
I really appreciate that you put the two week check up at the end rather then trying to stretch it into multiple videos. Another top quality video Nate!
I'm weird and have definitely watched a few hoof trimming channels. I really like your knife work and general approach. I'm not even sure I have the vocabulary to articulate why. Others just seem to hack away and be in such a rush. I appreciate that you take your time, are deliberate, and don't skimp on the chlorahex or the SA.
Even though I'm a plain homemaker, I love watching these videos for some strange reason. It makes me happy to see you work to getting these cows back to good running order. 😉 And even weirder, today peeling potatoes I kind of felt like I was dealing with a cow's hoof with the dark spots under the peel needing to be shaved some more, and needing the tip of the peeler to gouge out the eyes in that circular cutting technique. Kinda fun knowing the potato doesn't feel anything 😂
You did such a wonderful job for that young cow. Thank you for bringing her to our attention. It really warms my heart to know that there are people out there. They truly care about these cows.
Poor darling with a poorly heel!! She looks like she was out on the town on the weekend, took off her heels to ease her aching feet and look what happened. So glad it was easily sorted.
Two unique ones in a row! The bull yesterday and now this injury today. Fun for us viewers, but hopefully not a harbinger for things to come this season for Nate.
A few months ago one of the farming channels I watch had a cow that needed a claw amputated. It was interesting to see how the vet went about it, even though youtube is squeamish about blood and such.
You are a true craftsman with your instruments. Never underestimate the ability of children and animals to get into trouble. IT is amazing the body's ability to heal itself when given half a chance.
I was interested that you walked around the area where the cow has been. That's a great idea but not many people would think about that, or assume the farmer or herdsman would check. Hoping you and yours are well Nate. Best wishes from the Welsh Marches.
Thanks, Nate! As a long-time watcher, I know you are a man who is always trying to improve his craft, so I have a question for you: have you ever talked to a vet before about hoof trimming? I'd be interested to see what a vet has to say about your style of hoof trimming!
This turned out much better than I originally thought Love when there's a recheck within the same video. When it's a separate video I'm not longer as invested
Poor one, but it's so nice to see everyone taking their job seriously and working within their limitations. Good that she got some antibiotics to help. Excellent care from you to work within your range of qualification and experience and thus help the farmer to consider how to treat a case. Knowing the own limitations in qualification can actually expand them, and everyone affected can profit from it.
Good to see the recovering went well, I don't wanna imagine the pain, because from the looks of it and how easily it bled, it must have been very tender and very painful.
I absolutely LOVE follow up videos. Thank you, Nate. And, I'll ask again, please give a little side quest video on how you sharpen your knives. They're shaped so odd and hit rocks and sand so much that the sharpening seems really unique. I'll give you a watch, like and comment even.
