Easily one of the best "Entrance" scenes in movie history, ranking right up there with Jack Sparrow stepping off his sinking boat in the first 'Pirates of the Caribbean.' I remember when I first saw 'Hook' in theaters when I was seven, Rufio was like the cool older kid in your neighborhood that your parents tell you to stay away from, but you and the other kids idolize him anyway.
0:53 "All grown-ups are pirates!... We kill pirates." Those lines from Rufio have a tone that give a sad realization behind the lost boys. They're a bunch of kids longing for their parents. Instead of having that comfort, they're locked in a war to the death. Instead of having adults to look to for protection, they get killed and hunted down by them. It's like Rufio tries to tell Peter: "Stop being ridiculous and asking for an adult to help you. You won't get any help from an adult, we would know."
Good analysis. Even Rufio is locked in this war, as when Peter says he’s a lawyer, Rufio’s look of confusion shows he has no idea what a lawyer is, but still, Peter is an adult, so…kill him!

i took me forever to realize that dante was rufio. when i first saw him in this movie i was like "DAMN!' (well not literally i was like 8 lol) and i became obsessed

The actor for Rufio, Dante Basco went on to do voice acting for Jake Long in 'American Dragon', Prince Zuko in 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' and General Iroh in 'The Legend of Korra' He has such a distinctive voice.
+Mara Erika Licardo and when rufio died he wished for honor and glory so he was wished back to become the firelord and when Zuko died in Korra the avatar took pity on Zuko so he was resurrected yet again to become Jake Long and when he died as a dragon he was given the task to be the eternal dragons Shenron and Porunga
its awesome going back and watching these movies and picking up on everything you missed as a kid, i.e., "what is this? some sort of lord of the flies pre-school?!" great great movie
