Truth is, Reg Parker (Shapes Gym) and his boys ran the security that day, and Kenny Mac (Promoter) told me they had it away on their toes when it kicked off with whoever. Lenny left immediately after his fight, as he’d had enough of the Unlicensed game. Dave York was definitely no mug on the cobbles, and only fought for a bit of cash in the ring. Dave would fight anyone! While out with his brother (Ref, Roy York) one night, Dave actually offered Len out in the Camden Palace. It was tongue-in-cheek, but Dave would’ve had it with him there and then. Dave is a top man and nothing like you imagine him to be. Re the Len v York bout: Len broke two of Daves ribs in the first minute. Len and Dalton had an agreement; an agreement made weeks before. The agreement was to leave their beef at the gates. Len was weary of Dalton, due to the fact Dalton didn’t mind pulling out a life-ender to settle a war. Furthermore, Len and Mac knew that having Dalton on the bill would get rid of extra tickets. Interesting story, I have read the books and seen these guys in action on video and heard the stories. Personally, I cannot imagine Roy or Lenny running from anyone. I have not a lot of knowledge on all these names in the video nor was I there, but from a outsiders view, I could see the film actors going to a safe place out of the way simply because their film career could be in trouble for this sort of situation (not running with their tail between heir legs). The actual known "hard men" I could see making a stand or some form of stance, but again it could go either making a stand or getting out of the way because they dont want the heat after the fracas has finished. You also need to consider that, if it is a group (large or small), you would need to throw a sense of caution into it, I mean you could be there trying to fight someone and all of a sudden someone else give you a dig in the ribs from behind, I mean you just won't know who is with you and who is not in the carnage of it all.
