No mate. Different. Australian was tennis gear by a company called L,Alpina. Their tracksuits were well expensive back in the day. So much so a shop called Hurley Sport in Manchester had one on display in a glass case
Bad history. All these makes were available in London for years. Don't know when it hit the north but probably years after Londoners were wearing the stuff.

Yes they often adapt the shape to the present time sometimes it is because they are applying new technologies and materials to the sneakers for better comfort and performance
