When You Purchase Your Personality… 

I don't follow trends, I just get what I like. I'm slowly building a collection of drip no one even knows exists.

Been a fashionista long before social media. So it’s a little easier for me to like what I like FOR MYSELF without influence of trends. And honestly I can’t stress that enough for younger generations. Don’t buy hype. Don’t fall into the trends if you don’t truly love it. I see some current trends that have been “a thing” during in the past (adidas Sambas for example) and I just think about how funny things trend when for me, been there, done that. But there’s no problem with trends, sh!t I incorporate some of it myself. But ultimately, you gotta LOVE what you’re wearing! Impress yourself before others!

I've been experiencing some serious burnout when it comes to fashion as a whole, so I really appreciate this channel because it provides you with just enough information to stay in the loop of the current fashion meta. This is so valuable because it's allowed me create some distance between myself and the online fashion sphere and explore my own personal preferences while minimizing endless scrolling. Recently, I've really enjoyed painting on my clothes and adding my own flare to staple pieces (Carhartt jacket, denim, etc.) I guess, I just wanted to say thank you for all the effort you put into this channel. I think you have a really grounded mindset when it comes to fashion and our consumption habits, this is especially important because most influencers are not reminding people that the amount of product they consume is only normal to those whose jobs revolve around fashion and the creation of fashion-related content.

Fact: when you 18 (or over) and go to university or get a job, you will realise people will treat you according to how you treat them, and what is your personality like ( caring? being well organised? being respectful to the places where ever you go to or being respectful while taking a public transport(s)? being funny is just a bonus, with or without, doesn't matter too much) not how you dress. You just need to dress appropriately. The money you save from buying clothes can be used to buy experience like go to the places that you always want to go (Japan, Vietnam, Italy, etc....) or saving up to buy your very first property. When you have a stable job and have a property plus you personality is decent, then girls will come to you automaticly

honestly shoes were my introduction to fashion around 2016, but I never really started to find my style till late 2019 - early 2020. One thing I noticed about covid is how much extra money people had to blow on things while staying at home, and helped to blow up the shoe market and the fashion side of tiktok. I don't hate on anyone using tiktok to get into fashion, shit I've bought exact pieces I've seen someone wearing in Instagram fit pics. The only thing that gets on my nerves about the state on fashion is when people blindly copy and outfit or style without making it their own. People post their outfits to the world to inspire people.

My gateway into fashion was during the tail end of the hype beast era. Most of it was garbage, but to this day a perfectly cropped oversized hoodie and some slim fit jeans with just the right amount of distressing is my go to. Whenever someone says something is “dead” I just brush that off. Nothing dies, it just leaves its rotation from the spotlight. If you look good in it, it ain’t dead.

I always likes crazy sneakers which led to me thrifting my way to cool threads to wear with them and I used to run cross country so i'd throw running shoes and other functional swag into the mix often as it made sense for my activities I was involved in and the right clothes/ gear helped me accomplish my missions. People crafting a style or AuRa and then beginning hobbies to justify wearing the clothes they like seems odd but at least they are doing things and not just putting together outfits to take fit pics

I do think you have some good points, I’d disagree that people aren’t buying a personality, but rather just buying into a specific aesthetic. And that’s ok. There are also videos like yours, that are just as bad. People watch these videos just like they consume on social media. All this video is doing is telling people what to believe.
