The theme music is the song Mary Hartman by a country-folk group called The Deadly Nightshade released in 1976. The full tune is on youtube right now. A disco tune was completely uncharacteristic of that group, but it was the only top 100 single that the group ever had..
Yes, MH aired on WJ[K]W/TV8 in Cleveland in 76 and 77, and was rerun off-and-on over the next few years. It was also on WKBN/27 in Youngstown. Yes, I have a bunch of Kielbasi Kid's, and will upload them when I get time.
Way to jog me memory...if I'm not mistaken, it was channel 8 that aired "MH2" in the Cleveland market. In the area of NW PA where I grew up we had an old-fashioned yagi antenna with a signal booster and rotor which meant one could view different "seasons" of Mary Hartman on stations in Youngstown, Cleveland and even sometimes Toledo in the same week. Got any video of the Kolbassi Kid?
No, that's Big Chuck, Houlihan was the skinner dude...I loved that show on Friday or Sat nights when I was a kid...I'm almost 44 now, and wish I wa a kid again after seeing this!! LOL!!
All I know is that it's some sort of parody of the original Mary Hartman theme; it was on the radio in the late '70s, but I haven't been able to track down the name or the artist. It's perfect for BC&LC's version, wish there were more of them.
