Excellent instructions and this is an excellent machine. Have had 3 bissells...after 2 uses...they always went back to the shop...sure made a repair man happy...taught me to stick to Hoover!!!
I soak brushes in pine sol solution the use small pronged fork and old toothbrush to clean build up in brushes, seems like alot of work at first but now it is part of the routine
Anyone have an idea how to remove residue from the rollers? I did everything recommended but she didn’t have mention or mention how to actually clean it, other than rinsing
Can you provide a link to troubleshoot why brushes are not turning on an F5915900? As outlined in the manual, I've cleaned the indicator screen & set the speed selector to Low and Hih with no results. The slot on the cleaner housing does not appear to be turning.
My middle brush fell so the brushes wont spin.but i took off the end brush put it in the middle took that blck pieace of the one that shows you its spinning now it work.
If you own a Hoover Power Scrub FH50135 and are trying to remove the brush, do not yank it out. There are black clips deep inside. I used a flathead screwdriver and pushed them out on both sides. Yanking it out may ruin the plastic grooves.
These brushes are cheaply made. After a few uses (yes, I did rinse after every use) there is dirt and dust embedded in the brushes so deeply that it won't come out. Now only half of the scrubbing power can be used. Brushes are expensive, nearly 1/3 cost of the machine. I hope to get mine replaced under warranty and will update if Hoover is kind enough to do that.
indeed they are cheaply made, in that the bristles tilt after not that many uses, so they don't scrub as well. Yes, they get embedded dirt, but they always blast out perfectly clean outdoors with a strong spray from a garden hose nozzle!
After use, the brushes are all gunked up, with pilings and bits of hair or something entangled in each bristle bunch. Any easy way to clean these? I've manually combed with a small screwdriver, but that is not perfect.
On mine there are six tabs (3 to a side) near the top of the long sides that will allow you to remove the clear plastic housing for cleaning. When you pop it back on, the brushes might look squashed but give them a spin and they sort themselves out.
The real problem is how to you disassemble the brush assembly in order to remove all the gunk and carpet fibers stuck in the bristles. And what's the best way to clean those?
Sorry if this is so late. But you just stick a screwdriver or a knife to pry loose, then simply pull the plastic housing for the brushes apart. I just cleaned mine good as new after the previous owner threw it away. They also owned a cat. 🤢
This message is for whom is having the middle brush fall apart problem... The brush block is a fairly ill-designed part on the machine. The middle brush is relying on the tiny over hang on the transparent housing to keep it stay with the block. However, if the edge of the green plastic brush part wears out the transparent housing... In that case, the middle brush will fall from the block. Then, you will be out of luck to get the brushes to rotate again. I don't know why they design it this way... and so many people having this problem... Instead to fix this problem... They are selling this whole block for $29+$9 s/h. 1/5 or 1/4 of the whole machine. I only used the machine about ten times... I am still thinking what to do with it...
Mine stopped spinning the brushes. After a teardown, found nothing wrong inside! Manual does not tell me to take out 3 screws and lift the clear cover to clean the air intake for the internal turbine that drives the brushes! Needs to be done often! Too bad it was not designed to lift out the air filter without any disassembly, like the brushes are!
could be something as simple as cleaning out the lint filter screen , If that area is not cleaned out there is not enough wind force to spin the brush block assembly. The screen is located from the outside of the unit, near the front right side..... where that colored disc swirls to let the user know it is rotating. Pry off the small, clear almost rectangular cover (there are 3 clips or tabs on it). You will see a small rectangular area (probably packed with old rug lint). Pick the lint out to expose the screen under it. When the screen is visible you are all set it is cleaned out. Now snap the clear plastic triangle back on and give it a try.
