My wife and I knew when we first bought this property, that the railing was going to need to be rebuilt. Here we are, over two years later and I'm finally getting around to rebuilding it. I just happened to capture the entire project and zip it into an 8 minute timelapse video. I enjoy watching process videos. it seems he doesn't respond to what size the horizontal boards are or the spacing, but based on looking at it those are 1x4s and the spacing my guess its 3" apart at every 6'ft on center post

Thanks! It was around $600 for materials. Not counting the new green Ryobi drill that I bought halfway through the video. And I put about 15 hours into it.
