Denon DJ have just announced their latest firmware update 1.3.2 for the Denon DJ Prime 4 all in one unit. This update brings horizontal waveforms, improved BPM detection, jog nudge sensitivity and a console status bar.
Hello I have a question regarding this controller. I'm used and want to keep the possibility to change the key in cents, like in Traktor. Let's say I could go -0.10, -0.25, -0.50 rather than going in tones or semi-tones. What I like is to match the tone of the percussion, not so much the key. From what I see/read, you can change the pitch manually but not in sync. The pitch buttons are momentarily right? So is there a way to change precisely the tone of the track in cents while synced? thank you
Are/were horizontal waveforms a premium feature? Also, are there any advantages or disadvantages to horizontal or vertical waveforms? I seem to get a different feel when using either of them to scratch but I'm not sure if there actually is a difference.
I ve the sc live 4.. Amazing consolle but I have 1 question .. its my impression or the pitch bend is quite Plastiky and difficult to beatmatch properly whithout watching the bpm ( I’m using vinil and the pitch is better very Smooth.. Pioneer and traktor too ..)
Thank you , i have a prime 4 , and finally the joggs will be exactly what the pioneer 1000srt is and even better , with 4 different weight in the joggs , which will improve scratching , cause before they were too light , and difficult to throw a song with a scratch , cause the joggs were spinning like a tornado. With this and serato software , the prime 4 is numero uno. The beauty with denon people is that they listen to their customers wishes. Hope a prime 4m , with motorized joggs is next , and i know they'll do it . Cause with a 4m , they will destroy pioneer , not only in mobile djs , but in clubs to.
I own both. It really depends what you want. The RX2 is so refined. However, the Prime4 has some really sweet features that the Rx2 is simply missing. The touch screen is larger and more usable, you get 4 channels, you get internal storage for your collection. If I had to choose a favorite, I'd pick the Prime 4. That's just my opinion. I do however feel the Rx2 is easier to use. It's intuitive and feels just like any other piece of Pioneer equipment. The Prime 4 will take some spin up to learn.
Definitely get the prime 4. It can be adjusted to your liking even if you're a pioneer fanatic. Keep in mind this controller can be endlessly updated, as it is primarily a software-based unit. Until pioneer steps their game up, this will rule the market.
