Can't go wrong with BHW barrels. Love my M4 barrel. When I build an AR10 I am going straight to them. Good video I am researching the GMX for my .270 Win bolt action.
I love the sst out of my Remington 270 700 less then one MOA tried one box and went back and bought 3 more boxes this is the amo for my hunting rifle hands down. Love it 😍 little pricey but worth , it can't let them get away.
Great job and told me just what I wanted to know since I'm new to this ammo. Surprised to see that according to the Hornady charts I can get better than 6.5 Cr performance out of both my 30-06 and 270 bolt guns, amazing. Will be buying a few boxes of the SST for testing before deer season this year.
I shot some of the sst 130 gr. ammo out of my .270 and it shot really well! My best group at 100 yards was around 3/4 of an inch! Really good ammo, gun really liked them, loaded and unloaded easily. They say there is no more felt recoil with these rounds but shooting these and a couple other brands side by side I noticed a little more recoil from the ssts.
I just switched to Hornady red tips in my 30-06. I killed a buck at around 80 yards. He was dead before he hit the ground. No suffering, no tracking just the way I like it.
Have an older Sako 7mm08 that I used to reload for. I've tried most of the factory ammo out there over the years and since most of them shoot between 1 and 1.5 MOA I haven't felt the need to reload. Despite some negative reviews I bought a box of Superformance SST to try. First two shots were almost touching. Adjusted the scope and the next two shots might have had a half inch between them. With a 7X scope that's about as good as I can shoot at 100 yards. Needless to say it's my go to round for hunting from now on.
I like Hornady ammo. I've tried Superformance in 308 165gr 25-06 90gr and 300 win mag 180gr. All sst. None have been exceptionally accurate. 1 1/2" to 2" groups at 100. I like to keep my groups at 1" or less. Regular factory Hornady ammo will do that just not the Superformance. For me anyway.
Couple questions were the groups you, the ammo, or the rifle? because on average an moa group is 1 inch per 100 yards I am only asking not to be a dick , but because I am looking at this ammo. If it's 2.5 inch at 100 yards then I won't use it! My second question is in reference to the group is that your average group size?
How well ammunition groups will vary from gun to gun, every gun is different, chamber size, headspace, throat, etc. You could buy 2 of the exact same gun and 1 gun prefer a certain load and shoot tight groups and the other gun may hate that same load. You just have to try different ammo in your gun to see what your gun likes.
The sst and gmx is bad in this rifle,my 10fcp-k and my browning a-bolt is very, very accurate to this bullets, sst, gmx .My rifle is 300 wsm and a 308 savage at 100 yards 1 inche group is easy with 2 rifles.
