I’ve shot 14 deer with the 95 grain 6mm SST. With it I’ve taken frontal shots, spine shots, quartering in and away, and broadside. Out of a 6mm Remington with 3,000fps muzzle velocity I’ve only recovered one bullet and it was from a broadside shot that shattered both shoulders and was recovered under the hide on the offside with 57grains retained weight. Water may not have painted this bullet in the most flattering light but deer sure do. I’ve used the 150 SST out of a 30-06 and a 130 out of a .270 and all of them have been pass throughs with phenomenal terminal performance inside the chest cavity. I really appreciate yalls testing and it’s excellent for some reason the SST just didn’t show today maybe try it some more before you write it off for good. Keep up the testing guys!

I’ve successfully used the SST in 250-3000, 270 Weatherby, 30-06, 300 Weatherby, and 338 Win Mag. Game ranging from antelope to elk. Nothing short of devastation on the internals. I too have found them inherently accurate throughout the calibre range I’ve loaded them in Great videos! Thanks for taking the time to make them.

Good information here. My experience with the 6.5CM with the 129 grain SST is that my rifle loves the round sub MOA groups is no problem. On Texas white tail deer and hogs the bullet is simply deadly and nothing that I have killed with the round has taken a step. I shot a large body 140 class South Texas white tail at 300 yards high shoulder shot and the buck dropped like it was pole axed. Complete pass through so no bullet was recovered. Thanks for all the information, I really enjoyed the video.

My comments are becoming boringly repetitive: "Great video", "Very informative", "Thank you for your efforts!" Again, thank you for all your hard work, it is really appreciated! Happy New Year!

Two years ago I shot 7 does with this round. All fell on the spot. Never recovered jacket or core of projectile. 4 shots were center mass the other three were in the head. Shots ranged from 58-205 yards.

I have found that shooting in water is not a good test for bullets as the hydraulic effects are magnified big time. I have seen same test shooting same bullet in gel with no separation. Just saying don't give up on SST just yet.

Its been my experience in using sst's or any ballistic tip type cup&core bullet, if you move up in weight a little it helps a lot with performance. Instead of 150gr try 165gr in 308win or with a 30-06 Instead of 165gr go with 180gr. By sacrificing a little velocity for more mass you can gain more weight retention which equals better penetration. As long as your twist rate can stabilize the longer, heavier bullet your good to go. Can't wait for the next video guys thanks for the excellent service your providing all of us!

Love what you guys are doing. Keep it up. You must be in the Spokane area. I'm about 300 miles from you in northern Montana.

Really like seeing the recovered projectiles, no “theoretical” discussion on what @might” have happened. Personally using 150gr or 165gr SST in my 30-06 and only 1 deer has not dropped in its tracks, and that one went

Great tests. I'll be ditching SST's for a monolithic

Could you test the hornady superformance 257 Roberts load with the 117 gr SST? If you don't have a 257 Roberts, could you try the 117 gr SST in a 25-06?

I shot a moose 4 times in about 15 seconds with sst in .270 win at 200 yards. All of them passed though. It was dead on the first shot was just tying too put It down before it got to a sunflower field.

Btw... this is one of those videos where it would have been very helpful to see the bullet retrieval. It would have helped many of us to better understand where the bullet separation occurred and where the core veered off. This is not criticism, just a request to see more of your fine work. Cheers

Used 123gr out of a grendel to drop 2 antelope last year, devastating wound channels and 1 pass through of 20" of quartering antelope, 1 stopped in the animal as he was facing me head on

The 129 gr SST in 6.5 creedmoor superformance load didn't impress me on 2 antelope I took.

I’ve been successful with the sst in 6.5 cm using 140g one shot kills and very accurate. I don’t normally hunt water jugs just wild game in new zealand

The sst has a interlock, however the interlock has never been effective at maintaining bullet integrity. It's a gimmick.

Hitting water Jugs and Game is not the same, I'm sure Hornady Has a better way to test there Bullets. Just Saying.
