Interesting that you mentioned the box opening and tending to rip or tear the new box. I have found a steel rule sliding in one end using the flat end of the rule to push the box open from the inside of the other end. Not my idea but works well to maintain the integrity of the box. I hope that makes sense . Enjoying the videos in the last few days cheers.

Thanks Lindsay - Usually I'm just too eager to get to the inside.

Hi I noticed you said you messed around with the cv’s a bit I have the two of them and at speed 55 to me seem a little slow now I know nothing about the cv’s thing but when you say playing with them to get it running right I’m not sure but I think they should be a little bit better than they are or is it me also which cv’s should I look to adjust if you could help thank you

Yes. If you go into the app, then select the loco (if you have more than one). Then select "loco settings" (near the top right), then "adv CV editor" (again, top right). Hit the refresh cvs button (swirling arrow, top right yet again!) and scroll down to the one marked as vmid - which I assume means what voltage the app considers 50% on the speed slider. In mine this was set to 72. Given that this is out of a possible max of 255, this explains why 50% on the app speed slider is nowhere near 50% speed. I changed mine to 150 for now, though I may reduce it slightly to around 120-130. Once done, exit this adjuster, and re-sync the CVs once more (top right swirling arrow). Then power cycle the loco. For me this instantly resolved the issue. Hope that helps - but please be aware that this is only what worked for me! Let me know how you get on!

Hi Ian. That's not good! Better than relying on RU-vid comments, if you raise a post on Hornby's HM7k forum, then myself and others (far better experienced) can try and help. If you detail exactly what's wrong, how many locos are affected, what the symptoms are etc, I am sure someone there will get you up and running.
