This happened while at the Monterey Bay aquarium with my kids one afternoon. This little bird is too cute!! Makes me smile every time I watch it so I felt compelled to share.
Yeah this looks about right. I volunteer at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and I can tell you that the puffins LOVE the attention from the visitors. Every time I'm there they come right up to the glass to check you out and follow you!
He said the puffin likely thought that she had food, not that she was food. I believe the hypothesis being that they are fed by humans at the aquarium.
Are you sure this isn't in Tenerife Loro Park? I saw the exact same puffin there, in the exact same tank, doing this exact same thing. Maybe all couped up puffins do this?
