It's wild that the first case so many points were skimmed over. She cried and begged her father for help with voices and was clearly distressed by her mental state, that was only getting worse and worse, just for it to go ignored. Not only that, but they gave her free reign online and exposed her to more horror and violence via media when she was already a terrified child with PTSD and other severe issues that haven't been named. Poor step mom married into this. Kinda silly to blame it all on the creepypasta

My nephew was really into Slenderman when that stabbing happened. It made my aunt really paranoid and she asked me if I knew anything about it since she knew I was up on that kind of stuff. I told her about creepypasta and how he was just a made up guy that became big and had a couple video games. My nephew, who was a young child at the time, stood there mad saying "He's real! You just don't know what you're talking about." So I ended up telling him I knew exactly what I was talking about because I was the one who made it up. He was more impressed to have an uncle who created Slenderman than he was that Slenderman was real. So he bought it and ended up telling his whole school his uncle created Slenderman 😂

As a member of the Creepypasta Fandom, I speak for all of us when I say that we do not condone real violence.

This is what (to me), Killed Creepypasta. Plus the Media did what it always did, *blame the fictional stories / television shows* instead of blaming the real problem.. which is usually an untreated mental illness / Pyschopathy. This also happened to Beavis and butt-head. (The fire incident, it was a load of bullshit that the media hopped on, even though the kid who started the fire, his parents were trailer park junkies and left matches and lighters everywhere. it was a matter of time before that trailer caught fire. yes it was tragic that the kid's sister died.. but the blood is on the parents' hands. Also, the kid never even saw "Beavis and Butthead, he didn't have cable.)

The Slenderman stabbing is so frustrating because there was already a schizophrenia diagnosis in the family so they knew the signs but when they saw her exhibiting symptoms but chose to ignore it. If the family hadn't buried their heads in the sand this could've all been prevented. The parents were negligent here

JT was clearly distressed by her mental state. She begged and pleaded with her father to make the voices stop, but instead of doing anything to help her, he ignored it. If your kid tells you they're hearing voices, take them to a psychologist for evaluation! Don't dismiss them. Morgan had schizophrenia. It's a horrible, debilitating disease that literally takes over your life. She might have had a personality disorder too, and no one did anything to try and help her. Same with Anissa.

I’m really glad Kayla survived being kidnapped for that length of time, she had to pretend to care for Todd to survive as he r*ped her regularly. I hope she’s getting the support and love she deserves, I can’t imagine the horrors she witnessed.

My son, at about 9 or 10, read the Ben Drowned creepypasta. He became convinced that our copy of Majora's mask was cursed. I ended up having to hide it for about a year, but he outgrew it. Guess I got lucky with that part.

The creepiest thing about the LJ case is that the author, Snuffbomb, turned out to be a groomer 😩

The Laughing Jack and Morgan tales are just proof we need to take youth mental illness seriously. Trust me as a diagnosed psychotic, it is not just good imagination when we hear voices well into school age (according to my stable friends that usually stops by grade 1-2, aka like 7-8 at most) Also even if it is imagination the negative and harmful directions are still worth addressing with professional help be it psychiatric or developmental or whatever. Stable kids don’t have murderous imaginations or homicidal ideation

I remember when the whole Slender stabbings happened as the fandom as a whole went through a standstill and we just were in a huge disbelief. Its crazy to see everything going down in real time and now being talked about on many videos.

I’m someone who’s very into psychology and I just wanted to mention in relation to the first case with the girl being diagnosed with DID. DID is NOT a disorder in which someone becomes dangerous. This girl was obviously going through something mentally that had no relation with her DID. The voices MIGHT be from her having DID. Also want to add that there is no such things as an “evil alter”. For the girl it’s most likely that the alter(s) (if thats whats happening) who were speaking in her mind thought that the only real way to help/protect her was to have her cause harm to others and to make her slowly feel like she’s going crazy. Or she could have just been misdiagnosed with DID and have schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder instead

I still remember the day that the Slenderman stabbing happened, the whole CreepyPasta & Slenderverse communities were absolutely shocked. Even as a young teen at the time, I couldn’t believe the heinous actions and taking something clearly fiction as reality. This is why mental health is so important.

my grandma actually lived near the woods where the slender man crime was , me and my friends and siblings used to play hide and seek in those woods ( looking back on it is crazy , like why were we unsupervised 😭) so when I saw what happened my jaw literally dropped .

While getting messages from a deceased loved one on social media is creepy as hell, the reality is that if a dead person is messaging you, it's probably a Nigerian scammer and you should not respond to them.

I remembered the slender man stabbing, when I asleep my dad entered my room and asked me if I know about slender man. I was confused on why he was asking me this but I said yes. Then he asked me if slender man was real, obviously I said no and that’s when he showed me the news article about the stabbing. Let’s just say I was absolutely shocked that night and I’m glad that I know the boundaries between fiction and reality. Thanks for making the video wavy keep up the great work.

Parents ignore their childrens deteriorating mental health and then wonder why they turn out like this

My mother is good friends with Angie, Morgan's mother. Morgan had early onset schizophrenia, my brother also has it, it's how our parents met. So often, schizophrenia gets portrayed as "haha I hear voices uwu" and it's disgusting. It's a horrific disease, it takes complete control of your thoughts, it's legitimately like being possessed. It's watching your body moving on its own, speaking on its own, with no control over any of it. She didn't want to hurt her, I fully, 100% believe that, because I have seen exactly what this disease does to children, and I heard my brother sob for hours on end about how he didn't want to hurt anyone but he knew that if he didn't get help, he would. That's what this disease does. You don't have a choice, you're not in control. Morgan was a very, very sick little girl. Schizophrenia is incredibly difficult to treat, early onset even more so because you can't use all the medications and treatments on children. And it's expensive, incredibly so, my family spent tens of thousands of dollars out of pocket every year for my brother's treatments and that was after insurance, and even with everything at your disposal, there's still no way to treat it 100%, and it takes years to even get it manageable. What happened was horrific, especially to Payton, but Morgan is a victim of a disorder just as much as Payton is a victim of Morgan. She was demonized by the media, portrayed as a monster because it's easier to do that than to actually address the problems with this country's mental health care. Her mother was blamed for not doing enough because it's easier to do that than accept that someone in this country was refused access to the resources and funds to even try to help her child. There are no winners in this situation, except the legal system that made a hell of a paycheck off of the trauma of these girls. The only upside to it is that it gave Morgan the resources she needed to get help. There is _no reason_ those resources should have been restricted until after she lost control of her disease and hurt someone.

Doctors REFUSING to take care of kids mental health is EXTREMELY common. Extremely common. Any case that's hard they will refuse. You will spend all night, weeks, looking for a hospital bed for them. It's evil. Actually evil. It's about cost reduction and making things easier. I had a girlfriend that does this for a living. And she'd come home crying not being able to find places that would take the kids. I had that issue when I was a kid with severe bipolar. They want sad kids, suicidal kids, not manic kids, not insane kids, not kids who's mental illness is ugly. Where it's not just this sad cute romantic thing. It's evil. It really is. We as a society abandon these kids. Abandon them.

I was actually a "slender kid" drawing him everywhere, thinking about the story all the time, and even started getting worried that he was real, however because I wasn't insane the thought eventually vanished and i grew up normal. It's sad how mental illnesses affected these kids

You left out the weirdest part about Kohllhepp. He was called something like the Amazon Review killer. Lazy Masquerade just talked about him recently. Kohlhepp kept leaving cryptic reviews on products like locks and chains, shovels, and other items used on his victims

I feel that you really misrepresented Morgan and Anissa in the Slenderman case. Why did you leave out the parts where Anissa tried to knock Peyton out in the park bathroom and when she signaled Morgan to attack Peyton by telling her “go ballistic”? You seem intent on presenting Anissa as a misguided bystander when she was, in fact, a very active participant without the excuse of schizophrenia.

People love to forget that these parents didn’t bother helping their children when they’ve shown clear signs of deteriorating mental health and blame it all on the internet

The slenderman one is just a huge tragedy. I feel like there were many warning signs for both of the girls and their mental illnesses fed into each other. A dangerous combination that might have been preventable, but still disturbing in how it turned out

It's crazy how everytime you listen to a true crime story from a different perspective you learn new things. I have heard the kidnapping of Charlie and Kayla several times. I had even heard of the couple that was kidnapped and killed by Todd before them, the Amazon reviews that Todd posted rating how good the products were at helping him commit unaliving. But I have never heard of the mocking Facebook posts.

As someone who was in the Internet before Creepypastas and saw how Slenderman began and was created and then turn into some weird identity were dumb kids go as far as putting in the same level as Bigfoot.. I just facepalm at how ridiculous the entire history is and that people even got hurt. Especially with Jeff the killer who downright references the work he's stealing from in the original story and let's you know he's just a edgy emo Joker.

I've heard about Kayla's case before. Absolutely sick. He had killed another couple before kidnapping Kayla. He lured them in with work, killed the dude, attempted to kill the woman, but she fought back, and so he killed her.

there is a girl on tt who was in prison with one of the slenderman girls. she on the outside seems to be a normal, maybe kinda weird, girl. but knowing now that those girls possibly have schizophrenia makes this all the more sad. i deal with psychosis (depression and ptsd with secondary psychotic features) and i used fictional characters as a vessel for delusion. the character themselves aren’t bad, but in the mind of the mentally ill, they’re all the more real, especially with someone who is easily influenced.

As soon as I heard the name Todd Kohlhepp, I remembered the story. I really feel for Kala, I hope she's doing okay now. Not only losing her boyfriend, but then being repeatedly violated and locked up, it's just senseless. Hearing stories like this make it so difficult to trust anything.

The case with the two young girls trying to sacrifice their 'friend' to Slenderman still gets me. Especially now that I'm binging on almost exclusively body cam and JCS type content here on youtube. I don't usually say stuff like this, but maybe Morgan's parents should've sought some more help for her especially if her father was a known schizophrenic. I watched their whole interrogation....Props again to that female detective. I remember a lot of people expressing their concern that Morgan's friend was well aware of her diminished capacity for empathy, and that she should've been a better voice of reason; however I'm still leaning towards the idea that peer pressure played a significant part in the crime here, and that it's more than possible both girls stowed their fear and doubts about committing the heinous act because neither one of them wanted to seem like the scared one if that makes sense.

My step dad had something like the Facebook one happen to him as well. His friend from Maine who had been dead for about 3 or 4 years had messaged him from the dead friends Facebook account and my step dad responded "You do know he's dead right? " and then the person stopped responding, leaving him on read. People are so sick

As someone into mental health (and with my own issues) I always feel kind of upset for how Morgan is portrayed by both the media and the court system. The fact her schizophrenia manifested as early as late childhood (when it normally doesn't manifest until late teens or early 20s) is an indicator that it was EXTREMELY severe, but rather than look into any of her odd behaviors or delusions school officials and her parents just labeled her as awkward and a troublemaker (which admittedly strikes a very personal chord with me based on my own experience being similar). I also think the fact Anissa was let off on the basis of Morgan's testimony being discounted as coming from "an insane girl" in court is pretty sick. If you watch the actual interrogation footage it's noticeable how little Morgan shows any real signs of self-preservation or attempts to avoid self-incrimination, but on the SOLE GROUNDS that Anissa was the "sane" one, any contradictions were written off as delusions or deflections. Meanwhile Anissa's testimony from second one seems to be deflecting blame onto Morgan. Overall it's a situation that gets turned into this sensationalized horror story about "2 psycho girls that tried to kill their friend over slenderman!!!1!" when in reality it's just really really sad to me. None of this should've happened, but nobody gave a shit about Morgan except Payton and because of that she was nearly killed for it... And according to the courts Anissa was just there and dindu nuffin I guess.

Mental illness needs to be taken seriously this is proof of it for crying out loud if your kids hearing voices time to go to the doctor

The ex gf one freaks me out a bit because I had someone do this. A mutual friend un-alived herself and the "friend" who introduced me to her either had access to, or gained access after the fact, and messaged people, myself included, from our dead friends account. It was so sick. I hadn't thought about that in ages, still upsets me.

One of my coworkers was actually a teacher at the school where the Slenderman girls went. I am glad that the girls got the help they need rather than just throwing away the key on them. There’s no reason they can’t be helped at that age.

A friend of mine actually had a house shown to her by Todd a bit before he was caught. She was (understandably) a mess on facebook when she realized the situation and what could have happened to her.

But I’m glad the victim ended up surviving still a wild story that feels like a fever dream

in the Kohlhepp case, the bodycam footage in it's entirety is heartbreaking. Kala starts reciting this litany of everything that happened and you can tell she had been rehearsing it for weeks.

as a person who has lived in FL for all my life and seen morgan and morgan comercials on tv all my life.. i had to use them when i got hit by a car walking .they only got me 7 grand and i still owe medical bills from it .they took 5 of my 7 grand i guess the natural 33% .my lawyer basicly said that we couldn't get any more money. even though the ticket i got from the cop was thrown out and that judge who through out my ticket said to the guy he had better have witnesses cause he is fucked if i sued. 17:40 sometimes murderers who obtain their victims' login information (e.g. one of a victim's devices having them stored and not requiring authentication to use the device) will keep posting from the victims' social media accounts to pretend the victim is still alive to obscure the time of death, lure in more victims, possibly get money from people the victims knew, etc..

Ok, so the slenderman crime story scared me as a kid. But, as a kid, i still thought creepypastas were real. So when i saw a documentary about it, i was insisted that it was, in fact, real. Took mw a while to realize that no, slenderman isn't real, and he didn’t tell some psycho middle schoolers to stab their friend. I really do hope that girl is doing good now

After watching the whole police interrogation, Morgan was shown in the interviews to not know what was going on, and it was quite clear that the likely case was that Anyssa has some form of condition and completely manipulative, pushing oonto morgan her beliefs and coersing her by using her schizophrenia. People who are schizophrenic are easily manipulated especially when their paranoia is fed into, or someone feeds a new paranoia into them.

I've heard the first Slenderman story multiple times before, but I never knew that bit about the SkyDoesMinecraft mod showcase. I remember watching those - there were a few Creepypastas that I only first learned about through the video. There was one that specifically terrified me after that one, I think it was something like the Seed Eater or the Seed Man or something like that? Something to do with "Seed" in the name. Anyway, that just stuck out to me as crazy. I know the story already invokes to some that feeling of "something from my childhood being linked to something so horrific", but that detail made it all the more intimate and specific to me. The fact that Sky later on got into a whole trove of trouble on his own just added another layer to the "damn this just feels so surreal" moment I just had.

I was a 90s kid and it's wild to look back and remember the things we believed in. I remember being convinced that the candyman was real and other things. Thankfully none of it ever turned violent.

I was a teenager when I discovered Creepypasta so that is probably a small part of why I was never dilustional enough to think that the creepypastas I were into were real.

This is why people like Dr. Sherman from the RU-vid channel site-42 and the SCP fandom always stress that what we’re doing isn’t real but role-play. Because we don’t want stuff like this happening. I’m all for showing kids horror, but you still gotta be careful on what you show them. Never downplay a child’s fear.

It took a bit, but I remembered watching a video about the "Amazon Review Killer" (the /NoSleep story) and the interrogation following his arrest. He actually bragged to the police about shooting the four people in the bike shop! That was its own form of internet horror, especially with his creepy Amazon reviews that hinted towards it being used to commit crimes.

I remember when I was in middle school, working on a RU-vid channel with a few friends, and one of my videos playing modded GTA San Andreas with Slenderman and I made a joke about the Slenderman girl murderers (because I found it absurd) and my friend didn't release the video because it was in poor taste. Whenever I hear about that case it brings me back.

I was always a fan of creepypasta (still am) and i knew that these crimes would be the downfall, i always wanted to write a story but was always scared somebody would turn my story into a real life crime, either that or it would become a sonic.exe and crash to the ground and burn, i always looked up to the popular stories like the ones in this video, but if i could do anything to bring back the popularity of creepypasta's, i would, and make sure these stories wont happen with anybody's stories and tarnish their names

the wisconsin case happened near my hometown. it was detrimental to the community. talk about creepypastas was banned from schools, friends and classmates not allowed to have sleepovers whatsoever, new curfews, etc. i was just starting to get into the stories myself, and being around the same age as the people involved didn’t help.

Im glad Payton and the mother in the second Slenderman story made it. None of the victims of these monsters (the killers not the stories) deserved what happened, but I'm glad someone pulled through

A 7 year old girl told me that she had thoughts of jumping out a window from a video on RU-vid. She said it was a hypnosis vid. Her dad didn't even understand why I was so upset about him thinking it wasn't a good idea to just give your child a RU-vid babysitter. Dude has since lost custody of both his children so I can say there is some good from that story. This was only a year ago but has stuck with me knowing our children played together a few times. Im not that parent who just lets his child run willie nilly with other children until he is mature enough to make rational decisions. He told me that girl was weird anyway 👏👏👏🫶

Stories like these used to make me really nervous about sharing my interests as a young teen. I was into the creepypasta scene in middle school, as were my friends. I became interested in things like SCP and unfiction. But i was always seen as the weird kid, no doubt im sure some of my peers were suspicious about me, deapite me never having violent thoughts or urges towards anyone but myself. I was treated by school officials as a genuinely dangerous person at one point, and was suspended because of it. They even were calling for a psychological evaluation of me, my parents having to intervene so the school resource officer wouldn't search my stuff. Im still very deeply interested in horror media, and I've used it as an effective tool to cope with some childhood trauma and ongoing mental health issues, and as ive gotten older im more comfortable sharing this darker interest. I guess the moral of the story is don't alienate people because they seem weird or scary, at the end of the day they're still people, dealing with just as complex issues as you are.

I'm terribly sad for those kids in the Slenderman stabbing, both the victim and the killer. At that age I'm looking directly at their parents that didn't treat them properly and with enough love. These things will keep on happening until we realize that as a society we are failing these people,ñ. To aid them before they break apart and do damage to others.

So I'm just starting the Slenderman stabbing part now, and a lot of the focus seems to be on Morgan. It was likely the other girl who masterminded the plan, Morgan's mental illness and instability was the reason she just went along with it, she didn't even seem to know much about Slenderman. The other girl seemed to be the one obsessed with him.
