Well after catching a couple of horse mackerel yesterday, I decided to have them for a late lunch today. Ive heard all the myths and rumours that they are very bony, and only good for bait, but this is untrue. They taste virtually the same as the usual mackerel, and in a taste test, most people couldnt tell the difference. They only need one extra step, and then can be used in any method you like to cook the usual mackerel species.
