This was recorded on camera so the lady wit hthe dog would not have a leg to stand on if something happened to the lady on the horse or the horse itself. I am a cyclist and also had to start wearing cameras again. Two of them. Front and rear. All due to my four wheeled friends who care a grand total of zero for my life, when i am iding my bike. More and more cyclists are carrying cameras now. They are dirt cheap and can record for as long as an external powerbank has juice. In my case 15 hours straight at 1080p on a 256 gig sd card. I am done being nice. I wont shout at you. I wont attempt to educate you. I wont point out your faults, not you personally, when you drive. I will just submit the footage to the police and since they are dirt poor with no funding they will accept most cases these days. The law states 1.5 meters when passing at mroe than 30 mp/h. If you pull out of the roundabout with out due care and almost hit me i will submit the footage. If you cut me up cos you did nto see me i will submit the footage. If i see you on your beloved phones i will submit the fotage. That one is costly. That one is six points and 200 pounds.

Yeah and it's hard to train them. They are pretty stupid animals to be honest and they are easy to traumatize. And it's almost impossible to let their phobias go. That's why most of horses are so unruly and ready to bash the skull of anything that is fast or behind them. Like 60% of horses I met kicked me for no reason even when I was next to them dismounting them etc. Cause in their little brain they have some trauma of blade of grass moving suddenly or dog/cat/goose running near them or being bitten by a horsefly. For pulling I prefer cows, I find them more patient.

Exactly. There are PLENTY of command choices that can be used on a dog to stop it from going after anything. Sit, stay, heel, down, touch (focus), anything along those lines. If the dog isn't focused on the owner on command then they need to be on a leash at all times outside. Desensitizing, too, so even if it's not disciplined enough to follow commands like a sheep dog can, then it can at least ignore the horse on it's own free will due to simply not caring.

Dog walking Karen couldn't have run across a better horse for her dog's sake! My now elderly gelding regarded dogs as predator vermin to pursue and annihilate. His front strike was sudden and wicked enough to end any dog within range. I worried about the safety of my own dogs who fortunately learned to stay out of his pasture and give him space until he learned to make a distinction between our dogs and dogs he didn't know. The issue with negative dog encounters is that horses, particularly young and inexperienced horses can become dog aggressive after nips, bites, or harassment by a dog. We didn't know what prior history our gelding had to formulate his opinion of dogs, but he'd tip us off to the presence of fox, coyotes and feral dogs with his low head, pinned ears and stalking behavior indicating an attack was imminent.

I mean she probably should have had the dog on a leash but i don’t feel comfortable being anywhere near horses i certainly wouldnt feel comfortable retrieving my dog in that situation. Like she said if the dog gets kicked then fair play for not listening to her commands. Non horse people should not be expected to know how to safely approach a nervous horse. This lady was ready to let her dog take a horseshoe to the domepiece without complaint because she realized she made a mistake trusting a small breed of dog like that. That is the polar opposite of a karen. Karens call the cops when a yorkie superficially bites their horses ankle despite the horse having literally no reaction to it at all. A yorkie cant even fit its mouth around a horses ankle to be able to truly bite them. The horse rider is a karen not the other one. But, imo, the fact that the dog was off leash was the first mistake and would’ve avoided the entire conflict and kinda weakens your point. If you’re out on a public trail - leash your freaking dogs. It’s safer (for everyone!) and just polite. And furthermore, at the beginning of any trail where horses are allowed, there are usually big signs letting people know. If someone is really nervous about horses, find a trail where they’re not allowed! This is creating a problem and then blaming the other party, which seems pretty Karen-like to me. This poor rider and horse had to sit there saying "she *will* kick." "Don't let your dog chase her." "put her on a lead." And then the owner walked off without her dog. And as soon as the blame was put on her hands, she started evading and getting upset? And she's 55, apparently. Don't know why she thought that's relevant, but if she's 55, she shouldn't act like a 10 year old with not a single clue on how to handle her own damn dog. Honestly, the nerve of this woman. The horse (darcy, from what I've picked up) is an absolute godsend of a saint. Even the lesson ponies that I ride personally would've booked it for the hills. I know a black mare called Darcie, she's absolutely bombproof (and leader of her little herd haha). I don't think I'd be as calm as the rider was. So at some point loose walking must be trained before it works, but honestly as soon as I hear or see anything or even as soon as my dog sticks up his head and listens carefully I know that there's something coming, no matter what it is I put him on a leash or hold his collar extremely tight, depending on the situation. While I'm in agreement with the sentiment, you don't need to lay hands on/abuse anyone in order to teach them proper behavior. To me, it's kind of weird that you tell others to hit something they're having trouble with because they won't conform. Sorry if that's what happened to you if you wouldn't behave growing up, but you don't need to then go and tell others to follow in the same footsteps. I will never understand why some people want to physically harm ANYONE OR ANYTHING. It's weird. Do better.

@MrAgnosticman
@MrAgnosticman 2 месяца назад
@@KSTED1980 you've missed their point. The point isn't that you cause someone physical harm whenever they do something wrong. The point is that this dog owner has never been in a situation where they have faced the consequences of their choices or actions. This video is an example of her coming face to face with these consequences of being a poor dog owner. The fact she didn't end up losing her dog to a horse kick or being trampled under foot is a miracle in itself, and shows the amount of training the horse owner has done to ensure control over her horse in these situations. As pointed out in the video. This lady never being slapped in the face is both a literal and figurative observation. It seems like the dog owner has always benefited from the kindness and restraint from the people she has come across to not get any level of course correction a real consequence would bring. She has never had to change her behavior because why would she need to? Her dog acts up, she apologizes, and both parties part way. What's the driving force to train her dog properly? Right now, it's a slap in the face with a possible legal battle that could include vet fees and possibly the euthanization of her dog.

Exactly right about education. As dumb as it was to let the dog off leash without good recall, that horse was so chill it would have been a great training opportunity for a good owner. I would never go on a horse trail with a dog, but if i saw a horse my dogs would have had their butt's down a few feet back from the track, leash on, with lots of treats so they wouldn't disturb the horse and they would have get a positive encounter.

@@HOLLASOUNDS That's not just annoying, it's dangerous. Also unfair to the animal too to be so ill trained. Dogs that start getting actually aggressive because of bad training end up in the pound or put down if they cause enough damage. And it's never their fault. The owner should know their animal, know if they are nervous, if they've never been exposed to other animals or similar situations. Some animals also need meds due to anxiety issues too, but people just think of pets as beasts they "try" to control instead of creatures that are instinct driven and need good training to live happily in a human home.
