It seems to be worse in the last year or two. I remember going past horseguards many years ago and obviously it wasn't as busy as it is now. I had a photo taken but I was standing well back from the horse, It never even occurred to me to even touch the horse.
My mother always said to ask for permission if you want to touch something that isn't yours. She also told me when we went to a museum or whatever to "Look, don't touch." People don't have manners anymore. No wonder we have so much road rage. You never heard of it 30 years ago. 😒
@@martina21953 Visitors don't appear to do any research about what they're coming to see anymore despite the information being more readily available than at any other point in history. They don't grasp that these people are on military duty and can be observed respectfully. They treat it as an interactive experience that they're entitled to. I've even heard the regimental ceremonial uniform referred to as a "costume" by people in the crowd. I genuinely don't know what most of them are doing there. I don't think they know either.
It's a drag that "social media followers" have ruined so many things that used to be great. They are some of the worst people I've ever seen; disrespectful, rude and utterly selfish.
This demonstrates the perfect example of why Military Service needs to be mandatory for 3 years after High School. For those that do not want to fight or hold a weapon, and be a conscientious observer, you may serve in other ways.. BUT YOU WILL SERVE.
@@joelc9439 The people who work in the Palace are skilled and have decent compensation packages. They don't want conscientious objectors working there!
The guard in this clip shouldn’t have to put up with rude and ignorant tourists who pull his horse’s reins and generally take the mickey out of him!!! Go home if you can’t respect British customs or traditions.
If the damn asian woman hadn't gotten so close to the horse she would NOT have gotten pushed into the box!! They always get so close ... as if they want to get ON the horse not just stand next for a photo.
Well, it was perfectly natural for her to stumble backwards from the horse - that just happened to be into the box. Surely the guard would have seen it wasn't deliberate by her? Just thankful she didn't end up with horse doodoo on her shoes.
