Sir you have a very calm voice. And seem to understand the mind of the horse.

This is soooo interesting and the improvement of the horse in that short amount of time is awesome! Thank you for sharing this 🙏🏻 I will definitely try this with my own pony because she is also afraid of water just like this guy here in the beginning🐴🙊

Really appreciated this video! The amount of RU-vidrs showing you how to deal with nervous unconfident horses with a horse that’s half asleep isn’t helpful at all. To see the process as a whole is really helpful, I have learnt a lot from you. So thanks.

Best trainer I have seen on RU-vid. I’ve had horses for 30 years and my goal is always liberty connection and bridleless. So nice to have these videos. Really enjoy them.

This is a great concept. I have been watching videos to get a horse used to a hose.. they have their horse dancing all around and not being calm. I want calm and hose. This is great thank you. Following your videos now. I can't wait to try this with my mare, I just didn't want to chase her down with the hose and possibly scare her more.

Washing try reg.hose with pointy nosel one straight stream and put your finger on the end so you can adjust the stream...noisey have him be by it whileits on with no water on him and he's snorting because he's afraid. my way you can stand farther away spray s farther 5 minutes you'd have him lovein the wash .

Thanks for sharing a work in progress. My 20yr old Connemara pulled a fence down near the hose so I’ve had to start from scratch as he’s scared. I’ll try this thank you it’s all about the patience eh

What is the purpose of the flag?
@Boyland8692
@Boyland8692 3 года назад
I’m not so sure about this parts make total sense and others are just flat out wrong 😑 I think the bit I don’t like is the over stimulation of expecting the horse to stay in cones which he’s never seen before then your trying to wash him and then flapping a flag at him and I can hear him snorting and body flickers which demonstrates his uneasy with the stimulation so at the end of it the horse won’t know what it is that is frightening him which makes the lesson your trying to teach a longer process. Just saying I’m not having a go just sharing what I think hope your open to that. 🤓

Yes, and longer unnecessarily. Make it easy in steps. Much kinder for the horse. We really didn't need those cones as the audience. Keep the horse under threshold.

Giving a horse a bath is not about making him stand still while you spray him with water and by doing so, you're just over-complicating the desensitization process and releasing pressure when the horse moves. LET the horse move around when you first start. If you've done your homework beforehand, he shouldn't go very far, anyway. But for darn sure DO NOT release the pressure when the horse is moving! Horses do not learn from pressure. They learn from the RELEASE of pressure. And don't start at their vulnerable areas like their legs. Start up on their shoulder and desensitize their topline and hindquarters first before you ever go down their legs and underneath their belly. Stay away from their head in the beginning, or else the horse is going to get defensive. Wait until you get his body really good before you do that. Sorry, man. I don't agree with this method. KEEP IT SIMPLE and don't micromanage the horse's feet!
