This is my coming 2 year old gelding and we are working with the tarp differently for the purpose of the experience. I try to do different things with many things, to create the experience for the horses. (Having a tarp at this level near a horse obviously isn't a normal thing that would be happening daily but it's an experience and a form of getting them desensitized to as much as possible.)
He handled this extremely well considering I have never had the tarp in the air, following the horse while he is being asked to move out on the Lunge Line. I have had this gelding since he was about 4 months old. He has seen the tarp, had the tarp on him, stepped on the tarp but this was the 1st for it flying like a flag! His response, trust and confidence is evident in the video and I am proud him for staying together and being a willing partner to get through this new experience. 🤗🐎💙
This is just one more experience to keep building on for this horse. He has years ahead of him, he's young and smart.... I want to try and provide him with as much as I can with different experiences.
Building a solid foundation is a daily effort with continuous dedication and patience. I love every minute I spend with this horse and also all the others. There is no perfect horse, perfect human or perfect life. But we get a chance everyday to do our best for them, for others and for ourselves. Make each day count and be thankful for the day always!
