Hossein displayed a lot of class. In my opinion, Dario's rail was obnoxious and annoying. Hossein never complained though. On one occasion when Dario was trying to think and contemplating his next move, Hossein asked his rail to be quiet and respectful by looking over at them and saying, "Hey!". It was a gentleman's gesture on Ensan's behalf.

Yelling for seven from a rail is a meme in German poker scene, commonly heard in EPT scene. "Seven is always coming". Loeser knew what Ensan had. That's an inside joke known by most of poker audience.

He actually induced that bluff, and I think he had some kind of read on Dario. Dario did not look excited before that shove. He also (I don't recall) did not make his triangle.

@@MW-gk2uq As an American, I don't think that most Americans care about the nationality of player. As a poker player myself so personally, I think it depends on the player's style and actions. I was routing for Livingston and Gates. I damn sure wasn't routing for Maahs due to his actions. I'm perfectly fine with Hossein Ensan winning the event because he projects the image of a classy and professional poker player. JMHO

I watched the last 90 minutes of heads up play and Ensan basically turned Sammartino into a calling station. Each one battled to the flop on more than half of the hands with Ensan never letting Sammartino make any progress. Sammartino was growing more and more frustrated as time wore on by the way he tossed his cards back and took off his sunglasses. You can see it all play out here. The frustration and calling station from Sammartino as opposed to the calm, cool, and collected Ensan. Hats off to the dealer. She was incredibly calm in such a stressful situation.

Those lucky kids have worked hard to be very good. Ensan said in a interview that his play is a lot like the Younger Generation. His play was a lot different from his Past final tables.

8 high with a flush draw, straight draw…. There was a ton of equity in that hand. The idea was to make Ensan fold and, if by any chance he calls, to have a good shot at landing a good table.

Semi bluff, but he was short stacked and needed to get lucky with a favorable 12 outs to play with... it’s a standard risk play by Dario to try and double up. You won’t get maximum value just calling and the spades roll out... Ensans action dies right there if it does. Dario hits his flush and they are stranded there for another 3-4 hours.

I am glad Livingston didn’t win. He never showed dominance in his play. He would never continuation bet when he wouldn’t hit the flop. Almost as bad as Vayo vs Nguyen.but I have to agree that the two most dominant on the final table was Ensan and Sammartino. Congrats to both

Actually that's the standard play... Too strong to fold of course.. If he calls and hits what will he do out of position? Lead out? Also most of the time he's gonna miss.. What does he do then? Lead out, again?

In that situation, you hope you have a flush or open ended straight draw against overpair. And many were saying “why not just call the turn?” Well, Ensan with Aces or Kings, as obvious it may be, isn’t going to go all in knowing Dude hit his flush. Maximum value is making your opponent gamble on possibilities. It was a great shove with an unfortunate ending. Both cashed out massive regardless. That’s how you end a tournament.

You normally have around 39% on a flopped flush draw. It doesnt make too much of a difference but having backdoor potential gives you a bit more as well

it's because he had 2 backdoor straight draws. the low straight and the high straight. 2% for each.
