In this video we look at deploying VDO.Ninja to GitHub Pages with your own domain name. We also talk about some of the common settings and files you might want to edit to customize and personalize VDO.Ninja for your needs.
The 'develop' branch on the Github contains the most recently published code.

Also, github.com/ste... -- offers a raspberry pi image, Dockerfile option, and a basic bash script for those wanting to use VDO.Ninja OFFLINE; ie: without Internet. This method employs self-signed certificates, which makes it much more challenging.
I don't have time to offer much support on this topic, especially if coding or dev-ops related. I am open to feature requests though; you can make feature requests on GitHub or Discord.

Hello@@steve_seguin how can I hide VDO options? I tried deleting some lines from .... and that fixed it. but a few steps later the functions disappeared... I would like to make changes to the INDEX. remain with all function options, but "hide" would be the word. How do I hide functions that I won't use or need?

Hey Steve! Great stuff as always! One question. I created a Github account just to do this. But after I create the fork, under the branch options there isn't an option for "master". I see "develop" as the default, along with "git book", "quickstart", two steveseguin patches and four stable versions. Should I use "develop" for this tutorial or the latest stable version?

Yes. The video is old. Develop is the new master.

How would I set this up to run completely on my Local area network? I’m using vdo ninja to monitor my laser cutter and another instance to monitor the cooling loops flow rate and temperature. Works great, but it’s consuming a ridiculous amount of isp bandwidth. In a few days I’ve used 75% of allotment. I have raspberry pi’s I can use as local servers. Is this possible?

It's possible; you'll need to deploy a webserver and the handshake server, and also add a self-signed certificate to the system so your browser can enable SSL. github.com/steveseguin/vdo.ninja/blob/develop/install.md#internet-free-deployments

@@steve_seguin would you suggest I set up a RaspberryPi 4 with docker and run it all from there? Will I need multiple instances if I need 2 streams?

@@geauxracerx A raspberry Pi can probably handle dozens of streams. It can all be setup on a Raspberry Pi, but you'll still need to install an SSL certificate on the PC/mac system that is playing back the video in a browser.

This method of forking and using github as a "web server"... is this an allowed use of Github, sending all the video/audio data through their servers? Or will they shut it down because it's using their bandwidth? I didn't realize you could do this sort of thing with Github, and it's the first concern that came to mind.

It is p2p, you are not using their servers. It is a serverless solution.

Hello there. I'm a big fan and I use VDO Ninja a lot. But I'm having issues with the Mixer App. The director view is not showing up for me and I can't assign slots to guests or the screen share. Only thing working properly is the auto mix all function. If you could help, I'd appreciate it a lot. Thanks in advance and keep up the amazing work!

Any chance you could join the Discord server at discord.vdo.ninja , create a support thread in the #vdo-ninja-support channel, and maybe include a screen shot and details. If using Firefox, perhaps try using Chrome / Edge instead. If you haven't invited any guests to the room yet, you won't see the director's room. If you have switched from director view to scene preview mode, you will also not see the director's room. Any other details would help; perhaps providing links. It seems to be working for me at the moment.

Hi Steve, is it possible to remove everything on the main landing page (index html) to just leave the room search function , create room and add camera to obs.

Any reason? But yeah, go to rtc.ninja You can also do vdo.ninja/?hidehome to hide the main page entirely, or host vdo.ninja within an iFRAME, and customize as needed with CSS.
