not as far as I'm aware. Wish he'd address it on Rides Again. I think there was bad feeling all around after that darkness split and him finding these new guys. you're right, its a GREAT album. Thankfully most of it is on youtube @@ashleyadsett2302
Justin's voice is mixture of harmony, "Freddie mercury", conspiracy, and ecstasy but in his own physical being...he is by far one of the most underrated musicians and songwriters of our century. This song is so beautiful and electrifying...I'm glad we at least have Justin keeping music alive.
I heard this song and this band for the first time yesterday. Being a very big fan of glamrock and 80's rock in general, this song hit a soft spot in my heart in many ways.
@gemmamaber your wish has been granted... the original 'Darkness' lineup has been reunited... they will most likely be recording an album and goin on tour within the next year!
It makes me SO happy to know Justin is back out there doing his thing. This is basically the Darkness, which couldn't be more what we all wanted anyways :D
This is the best song he's ever vocalised; most underrated, too. Sad to say it, but I doubt the reformed Darkness or Hawkins will ever put out something this awesome. If they want to come back properly, they need an album on the level with PtL with a song like this on it. I doubt they can do it. This song is too good.
The Darkness were just the greatest band around, and when the others formed the Stone Gods, they just haven't been right. They have to have Justin's voice, which is why Hot Leg rock!
Mmm, humming Do your the distant strumming? The humming and the strumming Are comming from afar. Oooh, do I hear drumming Amidst the humming and strumming? They'll never see us coming We're beneath the radar. Oooh, they must be joking! I can see the tops of their heads poking, Out the top of the Trojan Guitar!
Both brothers by themselves have made GREAT albums. Stone Gods are incredibly sweet. I hope they get back together though, I never got to see the Darkness live. :(
Here I lie dismembered, The mutineers surrendered. They'll always be remembered As the cowards that they are. All along the pretended, The enemy they befriended. They sacrificed our splendid plans To make a quick dollar! But just as help was dwindling, Broken it up into kindling, I shall build us another Trojan Guitar!
Well they marched on to the front line. Together they roared, "We'd rather die by your sword Than live under your gun. But non of this matters to us anymore And you may have won the battle But you'll never win the war!"
None of this matters to us anymore We've long forgotten what we're fighting for. Well they marched on to the front line. Together they roared, "We'd rather die by your sword Than live under your gun. But non of this matters to us anymore And you may have won the battle But you'll never win the war!"
spread the word around! the darkness are back together! hot leg and the stone gods have taken a break and there are new facebook pages for the darkness! check wikipedia for more info
@gemmamaber there was a time when darkness rained the earth then from out of the fiery pitts of hell a light appeared and the land became bright blinded all with its light bringing with it hot legs
Fly, fly, my beauties To do your dirty duties. Just plant the seeds of mutiny among themselves, they'll spar. So a-leeching we go To massage the greatest ego. It ain't about the money, no. But I bet you one or two of them are. We'll lull them into a full sense Of security and then let battle commence. We'll take down the Trojan Guitar! (chorus)
Hahaha no problem! I actually got them from another video on here. I was dieing to know what he's been saying and I figured others were too haha (cus Justin's accent is very heavy on some tracks). I also have the lyrics to Cocktails if anyone's interested I'll post em on the music video.
I don't think so & I'm not sure if there will be a US release. I left a comment on BarbecueRock's account asking about it but they never responded. Luckily Amazon has it... for $24 though
I checked it out and you're right, but it's probably just Justin fucking around or some type of misunderstanding. He couldn't get kicked out of his own band.
haha! i liked your comment! im 19 myself but that would be pretty fun! everyones too scared to try anything these days or do anything ambitious--i liked the attitude of everything before i was born! way better ideas and it put the fun into music! :D
yeah I honestly don't think it's true either but it just shocked me. The headline on myspace says "Justin Hayward's Hot Legs" but that could be Justin Screwing around making fun of who wrote the article.
i think it totally great theyre carrying on-first time i heard of the darkness all the nerds normally into crap music liked them (cuz they were in the charts) so i gnorned them but then when i heard then i though it was the best band in ages! and then the second album was even better i thought-truely great and after the break up i was very sad to be honest--im glad hot leg have started-this is great! ive already seen stone gods (it kicked ass) next i wanna see hot leg live :D
I just recently heard this band. I think most of The Darkness songs are better but this is really in top3! Hopefully their next album is full of this stuff.
@jfontaine69 I'd pay more if it were Hot Leg, Steel Panther, Mika, and that guy that sings Bohemian Rhapsody from The Ten Tenors + Queen Cover Band (Not the first guy that sings, but the second, I believe)
Remember seeing these guys back in 2009 in Liverpool, great gig absolutely wonderful album. Which I brought on vinyl at the time! Do not regret it one bit!
I agree. I thought the Stone Gods were going to be awesome but I was a bit disappointed when I listened to the album. It sounded just like the usual crap modern rock bands put out these days, but still a little better then most bands. Hot Leg sounds fresh and new to me much like The Darkness did when they first came out. I still like both bands but I see Hot Leg going farther then SG.
I think HL is as good as TD. SG are pretty sweet too. But they are all very different projects. Something about The Darkness that worked nicely was that Dan seemed provide an edgyness that complimented Justin's sense of humor.
Seen justin twice when he was in the darkness. There will always be room for his style of music out there as there is to much boy band poofy shit that all sounds the same.Hope hot leg become larger than the Darkness and cant wait to hear there new album in February. Go for it lads
Hah! I work at an upscale grocery that caters to rich people & sure enough we're getting less & less business as no one wants to spend more than they should for groceries. I might be jobless if our co. doesn't start lowering their prices, though that's unlikely. Did your co. go under or did they let you go?
The Darkness will get back together again just not while there is a hype for it to happen. I kinda understand the need for the two brothers to do their own thing its like working for family its frustrating and The Darkness will need a phenomenal album to go with a reunion. Their 1st album rocked start to end the 2nd just fell abit short in my opinion and whats a reuion if a 3rd record was also abit forgettable.
hmm, like it, but seriously miss Dan's guitar playing! Justin's voice mixed with the signature Darkness sound really did it for me in a way that Hot Leg and Stone Gods just... aren't. Sorry.
