JUSTIN, everyday I discover videos, off the wall projects, or songs that you have done in the past that somehow most of AMERICA completely missed out on! On one hand, I feel like I've been living under a rock or in a cave , and have been denied some of the BEST fun EVER , but on the other hand, I feel like I've discovered buried treasure. So much GREAT stuff to enjoy on RU-vid, even if I'm 10 to 12 years late. 🙄 . I really wish I could find an album from "HOT LEG", & "CHEVY METAL". ALSO I loved the COAT TAIL RIDERS w/ YOU singing at the Taylor Hawkins tribute. The kindness that YOU & all the bands showed your dearly departed friend TAYLOR, has introduced this material to AMERICA & may cause a HUGE demand for more. Always brilliant stuff & fun times to be had by ALL when The Darkness, or the Hawkins boys get together to make music. THANK YOU. Your music ( no matter when it was released) is SO much better and more entertaining than 98% of music today. I have become one of your most enthusiastic AMERICAN fans. England KNOWS the treasure they have , and I hope they don't mind sharing YOU with their cousins across the pond. Once again, you made me smile today ,and I haven't done that in a LONG while. 😂❤🤗
@@fd9717 My last response was a bit short, so I'll go a bit further into my reasoning on the back of your response 🙂 On your earlier point that Pete has his distinctive sound, that's great, everyone should. The problem with a playing style like Pete's is that you have to hit those solos spot on every time, the way they are in your head (or on the recordings in some instances) needs to translate to the fret board when you play it live. His solos are so fast and "shreddy" in parts that it seems like he can't even keep up with himself which makes them sound totally sloppy. The other problem with his solos is that they're all fast and shreddy, there's four songs on this live performance and he does it on each one. It's like he's thinking "well if I just hit a bunch of notes really fast and shred the hell out of it, everyone will think I'm really talented". But then you have to have the technical skill to back that up, which in this live recording it seems like he hasn't, but the bigger problem being that it comes across as totally unnecessary and like he's a one trick pony. Hopefully that better explains why I took a shot at him. A few other people have mentioned it too in the comments.
@@fd9717 No I'm not really trying to educate at all, you have your opinion the same as I have mine. If you like and appreciate his playing on the performance then that's great. I just wanted to clear up what my thoughts were on my original comment. I'm a fan of Red Light Fever by the way. A few songs I'm not so keen on, but overall a very good album, particularly enjoy Trojan Guitar... What an awesome song that is!
talented steel panther, mate , steel panther is massively talented. satchel literally cam from MIT and was the bassist of paul gilbert plus lead guitarist of FIght, rob halfords band@@tomw1532
@@andyg3 I like them too. I think it’s a stylish move to be so over the top and edgy that it’s in a very clever way, punk rock in spirit. Hearing a person playing right up to the absolute limit of their physical abilities is a beautiful thing to behold. Doesn’t matter if it’s three chord punk or a technical sex-rock solo.
ok. i'm going to be my honest self. when i first opened this i thought i was looking at an SNL-like comedy rock band spoof. and i loved hair bands, glam rock and good old 70's Rockers. but this was just too much; over the top. maybe trying to hard or something.
